Very dirty conditions, no communication provided on $100 incidental charge nor $40/night valet parking. No one helps you with the expensive valet service. It was a total waste of money. I will say the customer service of the gentleman that checked us in was really great and the kitchen staff and managers were wonderful. The hotel attendees at the desk, valet, housekeeping all require significant training. It is important to have a clean, safe hotel for individuals and especially those bringing families. There was a lot of bait and switch and I really regret reserving this hotel.

The 100 incidental fee has been a standard with all Sonesta Hotels. The parking fee is shown on the Expedia website, which you could have read prior to booking. I will work with my staff on their customer service. Thank you for your feedback.

Very nice accommodations. Clean and well appointed. We had a great time. What detracted from the stay was the price of the parking. Nowhere did I see or was told what the the price of parking was. I opted to self park instead of valet. Not because I’m cheap but I’m particular about my vehicle. It’s the principle of it. I was informed about the change afterwards in the receipt and on the way home when I discovered it. This bothered me a lot. I consider it bad business practice staining an otherwise good experience.

Limited breakfast choice, no eggs, breakfast area seemed bare. Front desk agent talked to kept eye contact & was extra friendly with the guy that I was with when I was the one who paid for the room, barely acknowledged me, unless I was by myself & then wasn't as friendly as she was with him, he was not the paying customer.

It was very conveinient. Although it seemed safe, there are a ton of transients and homeless around the hotel. Very close to the Alamo, shopping, and riverwalk.
