Decent Hotel

We stayed in this hotel because it was the closest I could find near my family for a reasonable price. The bed was rock hard and extremely uncomfortable. The room was impossible to cool down - we had the unit on high and it still stayed pretty hot/humid in the room. The lights outside are so bright and the blinds don't do a very good job at blocking it out. It was an "ok" place to stay for the price, but I would not stay there again.

Americas Best Value, Avenue L, Calimesa, Ca. 92320 date 7/09

The facility was very clean. I went on line to reserve room and was given a room with 2 queens. I tried unsuccessfully to change it to one bed. The desk clerk questioned the manager about giving the room because it was for only one person. He said to go ahead. I had asked for non smoking. The blanket and the carpeting both had cigarette burns in them. I came back to the room in the middle of the day on my second day to find the door wide open and no one around. There was no housekeeping cart nor vacuum in the vicinity. I expressed my concern at the front desk and was told the manager would be told. The manager told me that housekeeping was called away to clean another room and he was in the area the entire time the door was open. I saw no one.
