Loved taking the path to the dog beach. Very convenient and my dog loved it. Staff very friendly and helpful. Bed & pillows older and uncomfortable. Can be noisy at times with jets flying over but the convenience of having the dog beach so close makes this a fun place to stay with your dog

We thought this would be fun by the dog beach, but the hotel was disappointing. First, the door to our room had apparently been kicked in recently, and they had screwed a metal plate over the damaged door jamb so the locks would have something to hold them back, but it looked flimsy and didn’t engage the locks very far. The top safety latch thing didn’t even have a corresponding part on the wall to latch to. Didn’t feel safe. Second, the room is barely furnished, so there is nowhere to sit besides the bed. No place to unwind and read a book, no table to eat a meal. The curtains were haphazardly hung so that they were stuck on the rod support and couldn’t be opened all the way. The walls were thin, and the neighbor was having loud, repeated sex early in the evening. It went on so long, I wondered if they were filming porn. Finally, the location isn’t great. There was a vaguely poopy smell all around from water pollution that comes up from the Tijuana River and down the San Diego River. The smell was always present in the bathroom, probably because it had a vent that was always letting in outside air. And the fridge and microwave are in the bathroom, which is gross. Definitely can’t recommend this place!
