It is the only hotel in the area with decent rooms and bathrooms. The staff is lukewarm. Some are very nice. Some are just there to do the job as well as they possibly can. The parking is limited and it is only Valet parking adding a $30.00 per day to the already very high charge. The restaurant only has a buffet breakfast for $32.00. If you are vegetarian you pay for all the fish and meat you don't eat anyway. Dinner also buffet only $62.00 same deal.

The room had a view of Yosemite Falls. Was magnificent. Room's heat did not work. Thermostat was broken. Cool end tables with USB cable inserts. Unfortunately, they did not work either.

This is an amazing property!! The views are breathtaking!! I have loved this place since I was a young girl, so happy I was able to share this experience with my daughter. Yosemite is her favorite place to visit and we were able to see it with clear skies with no snow and then a storm dropped a foot of snow and we were blessed with a winter wonderland! Just awesome!! She and I will always have fond memories of the stay at the Ahwahnee, nothing like it.

Good - but not worth the price

Our first time staying at the Ahwahnee. Its a great location and fantastic history and architecture... but that's what you pay for. The rooms were in need of updating. I was offered a room with a small patio (since we had two kids) and come to find out it was up against the roof and there were wasps that were living under the eaves. The drapes and shades were also broken. That said, we didn't come to Yosemite to stay in our hotel room, so we didn't say anything. The staff were very nice. The price we paid just didn't match the quality. But with limited options in Yosemite, we took what we could get. Overall we are glad we stayed there. But I probably won't go back.

Overall a good hotel. Professional Staff

Pros: Close restaurants, Free Internet
Overall stay comfortable. Convenient location. Prompt concierge and staff. Clean warm pool. Superb Sunday Brunch. Clean Room and bathroom. Bath tub not so clean. This beautiful facility in Yosemite needs renovations. Drapes and the exposed stone columns need cleaning. Just want it to look more precious. Service at par with the Ritz but not the facility. No reason this facility be less than a Ritz Carlton. Yoga class will be heavenly after an entire day of hiking. We will stay here again if rooms available and if we could afford it!
