We were in Detroit for summer festival. The hotel was full and it was clear the management was not prepared to handle the load. Room was not ready for guests but was give to us anyway. No soap, shampoo, towels, cups, or shower curtain? I could go on. Comical really, I will never return to this location...

Beautiful setting on River

There were many things that were not great at this hotel. Check in line was literally around the whole lobby and there was only ONE girl checking people in and then she told me when I finally got up to the desk that our room had no air conditioning. We could either just take it or they would refund. As there was no place else available we took it at a non discounted price. Upon arrival to our room we discovered urine on the toilet and bugs on the sink countertop. This hotel could be a beautiful place to stay if they would staff it appropriately and clean the rooms well.

Loved the ability to walk the Riverwalk.

Changed rooms due to the first bathroom not clean. Bath tub had no grab bars, for seniors. Second room better. Checked out early, had to pay $108.00, Resort Fee, why? Only stayed 5 nights, would not give refund. Spoke with Cindy, manager Sandy was to call me, has not done so yet.

Bad hotel in Detroit

Pros: Good shower.
Cons: Security (fire and at night), staff attitude, lighting, bar and breakfast facilities, coffee service all day, maps of area, housekeeping.
Location: The Ford Museum, downtown, coffee shops, Lafayette Coneys.
Bad... no Spa, no fire extinguishers, no breakfast, no working phone, broken security locks, bad staff attitude, had to get towels from front desk and ask for housekeeping, dirty floors, rusty lighting, no maps of area, no heat in hallways, coffee service stopped at 9AM on Saturday, in room coffee not existent because of broken coffee maker, elevator did not work, total lack of security, bad part of town. I will never use Travelocity again because of this hotel. Had I not paid in advance for plane and hotel, I would have left before setting a foot in the rooms. Upon arrival, the desk said, "they really f----- up this reservation." My two son's and I were visiting Detroit for the first time. Great city, plane ride was common but hotel was BAD,BAD, BAD! Do not stay there.

Dear: Bill, I apologize for the disappointing experience you've explained, and for the language used by our Guest Service Representative. I do provide maps occasionally for Guests who may desire to travel locally. The heating issue had been repaired by the Detroit energy company. We have a company that does service our extinguishers. We have specific departments to assist in repairs, as well as cleanliness. We are improving the quality, and absence of any room items. The elevators have been serviced. Thank you for sharing.

Not Good

Have appreciated staying here in past, but much is changing it seems. No hot water -- and no explanation -- for a recent December stay. Do not see returning.

Misleading Description

Pros: It looked like it was elegant at one point, but has not been kept up. The location would be beautiful in summer.
Cons: Staff was not friendly, room was dingy and smelled terrible, old bed, tub didn't drain properly, very loud vent.
Location: Location is on the Riverwalk, but not in a section that had attractions nearby. Downtown is a $6-7 Uber ride. Casinos were fun.
Let me preface this by saying I booked this property as one of the "top secret" deals. The parking lot didn't seem safe (nor had it been paved anytime in the last 30 years) and I didn't feel comfortable leaving our car in it. When we tried checking in, the front desk associate told us our room was cancelled, which it was not. She made us stand there and wait while someone (who didn't even look like an employee) went to check to see if they had any rooms available. There was another couple waiting to check-in, but were made to wait. The room was dingy, curtains in the bathroom didn't even cover the whole window, closet door hiding furnace wouldn't shut, there was no thermostat in the room and cold air blew (very loudly) all night, the tub wouldn't drain and the room smelled terrible. For Detroit, I imagine this was alright accommodations, but nothing what I'm used to by booking the "top secret" rooms. I definitely will not be staying there again.

Completely Horrible Hotel/ Experience

Pros: Nothing
Cons: Everything, particularly the personnel.
The staff I encountered at this hotel were unknowledgeable, unprofessional and one even threatened me. There is no structure or organizational system in place, and every transaction seems to take 3-4 times as long to address as what it would take elsewhere or should take.
