Staying at the Inn is like going back in time. The historic home was beautiful and the access to the whole main floor made for a wonderful stay.

Of course I loved the character of the house, and all the old/historical art and furniture and woodwork throughout. The bathrooms and kitchen were all wonderfully updated. Unfortunately we were in a room that was very cold, I tracked the draft to an old wooden window that was stuck open about 2 inches (it was @38 degrees out) and it was situated behind a tv which made it difficult to access AND at the point that I isolated the reason why it was so cold in the room (and we had no control over the thermostat) it was past 11:00p.m. so the Inn's staff were gone for the night so I couldn't ask for assistance. I folded up one of our 2 towels and tried to block out the open window and we bundled up with an extra blanket that was provided. When I told the check out staff the next morning about the situation there was no apology only the explanation that the window does go down and if we had told them earlier the staff would have remedied the problem. Would've Could've Should've didn't help us at that point and there was no effort to make the situation better for me after the fact not even an apology. Not professional, not polite. (Denise the check in staff was wonderful, polite, professional and helpful).

Good day Laura, We regret that you did not enjoy your stay with us. I explicitly inquired whether you called our night audit for assistance (our staff does not leave the Inn unattended we do have 24 hr. personnel on call at all times), and you specifically said "no, it was too late." We're not sure why you didn't want to ask for help, but our front desk is trained to correctly close and open the historical windows and would have been pleased to help you at any time. I did apologize for the inconvenience actually, and I indicated that if you come in the future, we would be delighted to make amends. We're not sure how you intended us to assist you after you'd already checked out of the hotel, and if you were looking for a discount, it was never mentioned. The Inn aims to make its guests as comfortable as possible at all times, and we were astonished to see the misinformation in your review. Kindest.

Need to somehow get room temps controlled. Went to bed with it probably around 80 degrees, woke up with it maybe in the 60s. Downstairs was crazy hot in the morning. Constant noise that sounded like someone taking a shower all night. Super loud noise when someone turned on their water. With that said, place was beautiful and very convenient location.

Greetings Kelly, We're glad you loved your stay at the inn; but, because we're a historic building, heat is controlled via the floor, which isn't the most convenient condition. This is something we can't change because the building is over 150 years old and a historical Detroit property. It's just something that comes with staying in an old structure.
