Waterfront hotel walk to everything

Not sure if it was the hotel or Travelocity but the room we booked was unavailable. It was very disappointing. The hotel did the right thing to accommodate us and were very friendly and professional in helping us. However the room we booked and the room we got were no comparison.

Pretty hotel on the beach

Pros: Literally right on the boardwalk, which is great. The rooms are very nice. Lobby and restaurant are pretty too.
Cons: The parking is awkward. The "Valet" area is right on the street, and it didn't appear to be manned when we arrived. We ended up parking ourselves.
Location: Beach is gorgeous but there's a fee to get on it. Jones Beach concerts are just 10 minutes away.
Very pretty hotel right on the boardwalk. Has kind of a Miami feel to it. Nothing wrong with it at all, very comfortable. For the price I kind of expected it to be a bit more upscale, but I guess for beachfront accomodations in NY it's what you pay. In fairness I'm not a big traveler so I may have outdated price expectations.

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to write about your recent stay with us. I am happy to hear that you enjoyed your room and enjoyed the restaurant. I regret to hear that you had some challenges with parking. Street parking in Long beach is free and we do offer the valet as a convenience as we know if can be difficult to find parking in the summer. We look forward to your next stay with us.

Horrible...a disaster...

I am honestly not even sure where I should start to tell you of the horrific stay we had at the Allegria this past weekend. Myself and a group of longtime girlfriends reserved 3 rooms over 2 months ago. We asked for guarantee of 3 rooms with 2 double beds in each room with the request to be somewhat close to each other or just on same floor if possible. We understood this part was not guaranteed. We arrived at the hotel around 1 and they told us we could not check in and not even one of the rooms were ready, but we should check back by 3:00 and they would call me if 1 of the rooms became available. That was understandable so we asked to store our things so we could go to lunch/beach. We did not receive a phone call, but we returned by about 3:40. Again they stared at us for about 15 minutes and then at 3:55 still said none of the rooms were ready. At this point we were beginning to get a little annoyed, but still do understand it was not yet 4:00 PM. Then at 4:00 PM after standing there for over 25 minutes they said 1 room was ready and they were looking for 2 more. We then told them we do not care if they are together we just wanted to change and go to the beach. After another 25 minutes of standing there they asked if we would take a room with a King bed, which we did not want, it was a suite and attached to the other rooms. Again, we did not want this, but at this point we were so irritated we said fine. In the meantime we had been requesting our belongings that we checked earlier to get sent upstairs for over an hour with no response. Finally, I went back into the bell hop room got the dolly with our stuff on and started wheeling it up myself. Finally, someone came and helped me. At this point, some of the guests tried to go out to the beach only to be told that they needed beach passes. Once again, we had to wait back online again and try and get beach passes. At this point, we simply asked why they did not tell us that when we checked in and a very rude person at the desk curtly told us they were very expensive and they just didn’t give them out to anyone… I was like anyone, really, we are guests to a beach front hotel, not quite anyone. At this point we asked the manager if he thought it was appropriate to be spoken to this way as a guest of the hotel by an employee and he said he agreed and he would address later. He then said he was very sorry for all our issues and since we did have reservations to eat dinner there, he would give us 2 $100 gift certificates to the restaurant to use. In addition, we were told 1 of the elevators was blocked off for a private event so going up and down took forever. After finally getting out to the beach by 5:30 we began to try and relax. When we went to get ready, the air condition did not work. I called down to try and get some help and they said they would send an engineer up. They never did so I called again and they said they had no record of me calling. I asked what room they would send the engineer to and they gave me room 416 so I corrected them and said I was in room 603 which I did say on the first phone call. He finally came up, but never fixed it. We arrived at dinner at 8:40 for our 8:45 reservation. We did not get served water or a drink until 9:30. It was ridiculous. We finally ordered 1 bottle of wine and 2 bottles of Proseco. They came back 20 minutes later and said they did not have the wine. Then they opened the first bottle of Proseco by shooting the cork and hitting one of my friends in the shoulder and spilling ½ the bottle on the floor. They apologized, but didn’t even offer to replace the bottle that was ½ on the floor until we asked, but offered no other compensation for almost really injuring her. OK, food was all terrible, but we ate. Bill was completely wrong. I ordered 6 oysters they brought 12 and said they would only charge me for 6, but of course 12 were on the bill. There were 2 appetizers on the bill they we did not have or order and they never brought a side that we did order. Then we ordered 2 desserts and they only got 1 right so again we had to send back and get the right one. Needless to say, dinner was a disaster and again, no compensation for all our troubles. They didn’t even offer us a drink at the bar. The following morning at check out the horrific experience continues. They had charged 2 of the CC for the $100 gift certificates at the restaurant which made no sense at all. Checking out took over 45 minutes because the bills were incorrect and they had a very hard time fixing and reprinting new bills. Bottom line, this place is in serious need of some help. It is truly a shame because it is a beautiful hotel in a great location, but they just have no idea how to service people or run it. I highly doubt I would ever even consider coming back or recommending, but you needed to know what you are dealing with…..

Needs a little help but it could work

Pros: Close restaurants, Free Internet
Cons: Noisy
The front desk staff were pleasant but the rest of the staff had zero personality. The hotel is trying to fulfill an image that the staff just can't pull off. If they want to step it up they should hire some hot hip staff that have outgoing personalities. Other than that the food was average/good. The rooms were nice and designed with style. You can see where they skipped corners but it's not a turn off as far as that goes. And you can hear everything that goes on in your room. That was a total drag and lucky for us the hotel wasn't that busy or I am sure it would have been even more annoying.
