Pay on arrival - not!

Due to the nature of my work I occasionally need to cancel or change dates so select a cancellable room with pay on arrival. The hotel placed a charge on my credit card some six hours before the cancellation deadline which is not acceptable for a pay on arrival arrangement. As it happened I was able to use the room as booked but wouldn’t have trusted an establishment that does this to reimburse should I have cancelled before the deadline.

Four of us stayed here for the night, for a girly weekend. Loved that we could all stay in one room together & that it was right next to the train station, in walking distance of everything we needed. Breakfast was really nice, lots of choice. Would stay here again.

It was perfect for our needs. Our initial ro was too hot, not worries and we were moved. Massive hotel but feels small and friendly, would definitely recommend.

Disappointing experience !

Unfortunately 1st room unsuitable, but got it changed for a room suitable for our 84yr old mum, 1 lift working which obviously staff also had to use, so full constantly! And after us have a fab evening at Strictly coming back to a boring hotel with bar closed at 10.50 ! So unfortunately not the hotel for us !
