Great location and wonderfully helpful staff!

Pros: Location, location, location!
Cons: The thermostat was difficult to figure out and it took a while to warm up the room.
Location: Located within walking distance to the Waterfront Shopping area with a movie theater, restaurants, bars, and plenty of shopping.
Pros: This hotel has a great location and the staff was very kind and courteous. It is a beautiful, well-kept hotel. Cons: The thermostat in the room was difficult to figure out and it took a while before the room warmed up a bit. Also, the price/rate of the room for one night was a little steep. If we had stayed one day earlier, the rate dropped quite a bit. How can they justify charging so much more one day later?

It easily upheld the expectations of staying in a Marroitt. The maid service is the "Wow" factor. Personable, big smiles, courteous & outgoing. The 2 women that have floor 3 seemed to carry the sun with them. They brightened up the entire floor. The Big Disappointment was the dining area(s). When paying that much money for a room and staying multiple nights, to have to pay extremely inflated prices for breakfast is rediculous. It would've been nice to have the convenience of a continental breakfast to add to the relaxation factor of vacationing. Instead we found an Eat n Park down the street for a fraction of the cost. To charge for lunch & dinner is completely reasonable.

Friendly staff

Pros: Staff and decor
Location: Loads of places to shop and dine, nicely laid out area felt more like a little town. Movies theaters too. Close to Squirrel Hill for Mineo's pizza!
Loved the decor and convenience. We went for walks by the river and walked to go shopping and out to eat. Everyone was very cheerful, made for a very relaxing Thanksgiving week-end. We were in town for the holiday week-end visiting family and to see the Pitt football game. Location is very convenient to Oakland where we visited the Carnegie museum which is a real treasure.

Cons: No coffee or continental breakfast offered in the morning. I had to buy coffee or breakfast but it was VERY expensive. Stay there to sleep only.
nice staff, good room - but VERY expensive bar/food. Bring your own food and drink, steer clear of the bar area.

Nice room

Pros: The room was big, the beds were comfortable, and the entire hotel was clean.
Cons: The WiFi was awful. I stayed at a discount hotel chain the night before arriving here and had much better WiFi at the other hotel.
Location: Shopping, dining, movie theater, and Dave & Buster's are all within walking distance
My room was spacious and clean. I enjoyed the proximity to shopping. The WiFi was absolutely terrible. I also didn't care for the sound of trains going by throughout the night.
