The hotel is right next to Chinatown, but accessible to other areas of the city. We mostly walked to the places we wanted to visit, but also rode Muni buses, the cable cars, and BART trains when we needed to go further distances, such as to the airport. The room was large and clean and had comfortable furniture and a nice bathroom.

Building was very quiet and clean. Staff were friendly and efficient. Location very convenient to Chinatown, North Beach, and Embarcadero. Parking is pricey, but worth it. Did not try the restaurant or exercise room.

The property is extremely clean! The owners attention to detail and customer centric focus is obvious. Service was excellent and the staff are freindly and attentive. The vibe is one if relaxation and peace. Looking forward to my next stay.

Staff always friendly. In the room there might be more coffee pods and milk for the kurig. Water glasses also.we only received a newspaper one day

Thought the hotel was clean ... staff wasn’t the warmest staff . I also think they should include breakfast or get a pool in the facility to make it more of an experience . The location was very good though .

Front Desk

Pros: Cleanliness, quiet & comfort of the room.
Cons: Train your front desk staff.
Location: Great location - close to lots of shops, cafes and transportation.
Front desk personnel seemed unorganized making checkin slower than necessary. Also, their conversations - with guests standing around - were very unprofessional. The most knowledgeable & helpful staff member was the daytime doorman. He seemed to be running the show!

Very Nice Non-Chain Hotel

Pros: The location is good, and the staff were so accommodating.
Cons: There was very little flat surface to put items (toiletries, etc.) and there was no toilet seat lid.
Location: The hotel is located cross the street from the Chinatown gate on Grant and is within walking distance to many attractions.
Good location, friendly and helpful staff, the room was small but spotless. A friend joined us for the day, and the hotel manager not only opened our wine (we had no corkscrew), but saw to it we had enough wine glasses to drink it, then directed us to their rooftop garden where we could enjoy our wine and visit in peace and relative seclusion. The rooftop garden had lots of separate seating areas with a lovely view from any vantage point. Because the rooms are tiny (standard in SF), this hotel is not really set up to accommodate families, however, if you're a couple looking for a smallish independent hotel, try this one - you won't be disappointed.
