I was pleasantly surprised by my stay here. The hotel is historic (old) but it was in nice condition and I found the oldness quaint and charming. The rooms are not modern but they had everything we needed for a 1 night stay. The location was great and there was a lot of shopping nearby. Walkable to a Caps game. My only complaint was that our room was hot and there was not a way to control the room temperature. But I would definitely stay here again!

Very convenient location for what I was there for (Warner Theater). The price for both the location and compared to other area hotels was a no brainer. I wasn't looking for 5 star or expecting it but I got a clean hotel room/hotel with the convenience of a restaurant and bar on site. Great location for what I was looking to do and able to walk around the city and feel safe. A clearly defined parking option would help either prior to check in or at check in. I spent over an hour finding a parking garage that suited my needs as far as 24/7 availability which was a 15 minute walk from the hotel.

Pros: Location, value, Hotel history, hotel gift shop, friendly/knowledgeable staff, room size, extra courtesy’s for a family of 5 (4 beds in our room, extra towels, etc.), mini-fridge, and public free ice machine. Cons: no coffee maker/microwave in room, parking in public garage 1 block away from hotel ($80 for 2 1/2 days), shower temperature randomly went hot to cold during shower, public noise levels high with minimal soundproofing, and no control over room temperature. Overall, I would recommend this hotel to others based on the location and proximity to major attractions, value, and helpfulness of the staff in assisting tourists with the area. Hope to stay again in the future.

As other reviewers state, this is a historic building that hasn’t undergone renovations. With that being said, it was clean, a/c was plenty cool & beds were comfy. They only provide bar soaps, so bring your own shampoo & conditioner. Has a mini-fridge in room but no coffee maker or microwave. However you can pop in the breakfast restaurant in the lobby & purchase a coffee to go. Great location, very short walk to metro stations, short walk to White House, lots of breakfast & restaurants in walking distance. If you need to stay in a “upscale nice” hotel, this is not for you; otherwise if you’re just there to shower & sleep, it’s the best value for price and proximity!
