This is our second stay at the Phoenix Park, we wouldn't have come back if we didn't like it. But be aware that there is no real closet space, just a foot wide area with a closet pole, and some of the space is taken up with an ironing board. Also, the shape of the room we had only allowed one nightstand, which if you have two people reading in bed means keeping the floor lamp on. A sort walk to and from the Union Station Metro and the trains, and a 17-20 minute walk to the museums on the Mall.

The location was extremely convenient being only a block from the Union Station transportation hub making it easy to get around and within easy walking distance of the Capitol, the Supreme Court, the Library of Congress and the National Gallery, etc.Off-site parking was only a block away, reasonably priced and safe. Excellent Irish Pub (The Dubliner) on-site, with an excellent French restaurant also nearby. Rooms are extremely clean, quiet and comfortable. Everything about this hotel was nice, including the price. Definitely will return if visiting DC again.

This was my first time staying at the Phoenix Park and I will be back. The staff was wonderful, less than two blocks away from Union Station, and I felt safe as a single traveler. There is also a restaurant next door! Bonus.
