Braintree Hotel & Travel Guide\n
Braintree is a suburban city in Massachusetts, about 13 miles south of Boston. Named for an English town of the same name in Essex, Braintree was incorporated in 1640 and enjoys a rich history. Two U.S. Presidents, John Adams and John Quincy Adams, were born in Old Braintree (now a part of neighboring Quincy), as was John Hancock, the first person to sign the Declaration of Independence. Braintree hotels are a great base from which to explore this exciting and historic region south of Boston.
Visiting Braintree
Braintree is easily accessible from Boston Logan International Airport (BOS); in fact, you have two options by public transit. Take the subway (locally known as the "T") to South Station and get a ticket on the commuter rail to Braintree. You could also ride the T directly to Braintree (it's at the end of the red line), although the commuter rail is likely faster. There are Braintree rental cars available to help you get around once you arrive at your destination. You can also reserve a car from the rental center at Logan or hire a cab. Drop off your things in one of the hotels in Braintree MA and head over to check out the General Sylvanus Thayer Birthplace. This building, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, was home to the "Father of West Point." Do a little souvenir shopping at the South Shore Plaza mall, one of the northeast's largest shopping centers, before heading to South Braintree Square for a bite to eat. You'll find a broad variety of cuisine traditions there, ranging from Japanese to Italian to BBQ. Ready to explore beyond Braintree? Since you're passing through Boston anyway, why not treat yourself to a stay in one of the best hotels in Boston? Wander the stalls at Faneuil Hall or take yourself to see the Boston Symphony Orchestra.
It's time to explore Braintree! Book your airfare and cheap hotels in Braintree MA at the same time here on Travelocity and save up to $537 on your vacation package. That's a lot of extra pocket money!
