Nice family spring break base
We spent an enjoyable week at this rustic chalet. It has a nice mountain view and is down a quiet road with just a couple of other houses. The house had mostly everything we needed. The waffle maker was a big hit.The fridge had plenty of space and there was coffee, tea, sugar and misc spices available. (Note there is not a dishwasher or washing machine at the property, and the well water does have a sulfur odor - in case you aren't used to rural water quirks).
The hot tub was nice to have, especially during the snowfall. I would have loved to visit in summer and use the big fire pit - the Adirondack chairs looked sturdy and comfy.
The beds were comfortable, linens clean and plenty of bath and hot tub towels. There was also a small basket for four legged guests that included blankets and extra poop bags.
We had some lousy weather but made it to Mine Kill park for a hike and visited Howe Caverns (about a half hour away). We also had dinner at Sundaes and it was fantastic - best ice cream ever! There is a convenience store/gas station a short drive away and a little further is a well stocked grocery store.
l'd recommend this home for families of 3-4, or a small group of friends. With multiple couples or families it would be cramped. It's especially nice for little kids (under 8-10) and pets with the built in stair gates, play area and small swing set. TVs in rooms were nice but unreliable. We brought board games and enjoyed the pool table!
