Our stay with the Belvidere was memorable as always. Beth and the Ridge family took care of an A/C glitch by moving us to another room, and we were able to continue to enjoy our stay as always. We usually visit in the fall and winter, but the summer offered a different look at Hawley region. What could have been a disappointing stay turned out to be great. Can't say enough positive about our Ridge family! We'll be back again!!

Convenient to town. Breakfast was included but you had to go to the diner next block . When you reached there the waitress sai she was the only one serving 6 tables so we had to wait to be seated. I finally left without being seated because I had to catch a flight. Perhaps the hotel could have arrangements with several diners.

Lovely Historic Hotel

Pros: Friendly, clean and uniquely styled. When you go through the front door, it's like stepping back in time and very pleasant.
Cons: Front lobby needs improvement - should be technologically updated to expedite check-in and out processes.
Location: Hotel restaurant is great. Food is delicious, service is welcoming and friendly and they have a full service bar. We enjoyed dining at the hotel.
The Hotel Belvidere is located in Hawley, PA's business district so it's easy to find. The hotel was built in 1902 - there's an original hand-written register in the lobby that you can look at through glass), lots of original touches throughout the hotel. The staff is warm and welcoming. In fact, they could not do enough to make sure our stay was comfortable (it was like staying in someone's house that's really glad you came there). Anyway, rooms are a bit old fashioned but very clean (we originally booked a room with two full size beds and a shower, but due to an unexpected change, the hotel gave a king size room with a jetted tub - with our consent of course). A little comment about the jetted tub - awkward to get in and out of the shower because you have to step over a high tub side (there's a small step in front of the tub and a tiny step inside the tub but the height difference is considerable). Bathroom was clean and had good lighting (hotel provided all the basic amenities like shampoo and soaps). There was a hairdryer in the bathroom (hotel description stated that hair dryers are provided upon request so I brought my own but wasn't necessary). No closet in the room (there was a coat rack and a dresser with a mirror). They provided a small refrigerator in the room and a rocking chair. There's a coffee room on the first floor with all the basic necessities like a coffee machine, water and microwave. Nice hotel with a boat load of charm. Overall, a very good experience.

Not worth the money

Pros: Leaving in the morning.
Cons: Tear the motel down and build a new one.
Location: Every nearby restaurant was closed.
The staff was 2 hours late to open the hotel. None of the rooms were ready. I asked for a quiet room and was awaken all night by loud traffic.

Charming hotel from 1902

This hotel was built in1902. They are in the process of remodeling a lot of things; from what I could see the rooms are all remodeled and decorated as best as possible and according to the times. The hotel rooms are very clean with clean linen and towels. No complaints there. We stayed in the biggest and largest room in the hotel, it was extremely spacious. Room number 10 has 2 bedrooms and one enormous bathroom. The pics they took does not do this room justice. It's newer than it looks, except for some of the furniture(desks, night stands, and chest). It has 2 brand new fireplaces and air condition units in each room. These were extremely cool, no need for central air. This room also has a tv in the largest room which also has a couch, fireplace, small fridge and microwave. The hotel provides a continental breakfast on the second floor, coffee, muffins, water, apple juice, and yogurt. Now, let's be real! This hotel is lacking a few things. 1- There is not enough staff. There's only one young man working here. I believe he's the owner; he's very nice and helpful but we only saw him once when we registered Saturday at 2 PM. The hotel is a ghost town, no joke about this. We saw the cleaning lady once in the morning. Mind you, we stayed there 2days and only came to room at night around 10- 10:30 PM to sleep. We were busy at friends' cabin rental and only needed place to sleep and shower. 2-The first night we came back around 10:00, there was no toilet paper, and for some re

Good location, great staff, far from luxury though

Pros: restaurant, staff, and location
Cons: Nicer pillows and towels, make sure everything is repaired, make sure wi-fi is working, put some thought into amenities like little travel shampoos.
Location: Lake Wallenpaupack, very scenic. Great cycling area!
I wanted to really like this place, it's in a great spot in a quaint Poconos village. There's a restaurant attached to the hotel and it was quite good, that's a big plus. The people that work there are super nice, that goes a long way for me too. The room was pretty small, it's definitely an older generation hotel, narrow shower stall. Couple things that weren't great: there was a water leak in the ceiling and it had dripped onto the little shelf with the TV. The toilet stopper was shot, and the toilet would run and then you'd have to play with the handle til you got it right. Really annoying was that at a certain point the wi-fi wouldn't show up on my available networks, this lasted from about 1am til the next day. Also, don't expect much in the way of little extras, there were a couple of tiny bars of facial soap but nothing else, and the towels were not really luxury. I want to root for the private owner vs. the chain, but I was missing what you could count on at a Comfort Inn or something.
