The historic significance and architectural detail of the property is impressive. The trails are well-kept and relatively busy with people. Unfortunately, the staff was not welcoming and almost made it seem like you were bothering them during a routine check in. The staff was not forthcoming with things to do or where things were located on the property. In fact, when asked about bicycle rentals, I was told they’re outside you can read it and figure it out. I was not given the code I would need to use the bicycles until I went back a second time. When taking a shower, the tub did not drain properly and paint was flaking off of the walls in the bathroom. I’m willing to pay for good service and a nice property. This had neither.

Staff hid the fact that their systems were down, which inconvenienced us to the point we had to alter our plans. We were never actually able to check in and were not even offered an apology.

Hotel needs a total refresh. What a stately, classic building My room needed a cleaning and refresh. My bathroom looked like had black mold on the floor tile (or just just super dirty). The walls were paper thin so i may as well opened the adjoining door to the next room bc i could hear all convos. Check in was slow and bar service later that night was sub par. My window looked over a black tar roof. I wont be back.
