Like the title says, our stay was good but the arrival was awkward and left a lot to be desired.
We arrived at the hotel just before 4pm, and from the outside it did not appear to be busy. We walked up to what we thought was the front door, only to have the second set of sliding doors not open, and no one inside giving any kind of direction. Assuming we weren’t at the main entrance, we ended up walking around the entire building and ending up right back where we started. This time, another person checking in was also stuck at the same door, on the phone trying to get in touch with someone, until a hotel housekeeper walked up and let us in.
Just inside the door was registration, with one couple waiting and no one at the front desk. A friendly gentleman finally came from a side door and offered to check us in while assisting another front desk attendant who was trying to assist the other couple. There seemed to be some confusion and disorganization.
Despite that, we finally checked in and the rest of our stay was uneventful. Other than the painfully slow elevators, the hotel was in great condition. The room/bathroom could have used a little more lighting, but no biggie.
The proximity of the hotel to Baylor was the big deal for us, and we appreciated the quiet stay.
