Great hotel just across the street from SMU.

Pros: Location and the Restaurant.
Cons: Great, as is.
Location: SMU - beautiful area of Dallas. Close to designer shopping.
Wonderful hotel and great restaurant! Always look forward to returning to the Lumen.

This hotel has just been renovated and very contemporary in style.

Awesome stay with my two dogs!

Pros: Free breakfast, Quiet
I stayed at the The Lumen, a Kimpton Hotel Saturday and Sunday Aug 4th and 5th with my mom and my two dogs. We were visiting my sister at SMU. The location is perfect as the hotel is right across the campus of SMU. I walked the dogs Sunday and Monday morning and evening and felt perfectly safe. The neighborhood was really nice and quiet. The staff at the hotel from the valet to the receptionist to the bell front door man were extremely friendly and helpful. I loved how everyone was so nice and friendly to my golden retriever dog and rat terrier dog. The room was extremely clean and beautiful. The bed is a bit low but still comfortable. Loved the modern look of the hotel and room and most of all, I was extremely happy that I was able to stay in a super nice and comfortable hotel with my two dogs. The hotel did not charge me a fee for my dogs which was a plus. My overall experience was nothing but wonderful even with the hotel being under renovation.

Lovely hotel...too bad I couldn't get cell coverage

Pros: Free Internet, Quiet
Cons: cell coverage issues
I really enjoyed everything this hotel had to offer. I just felt obligated to warn business travelers that this was a complete dead zone for my cell phone. From what the staff told me, they hear the complaint often and have done everything they can to work with the, can you hear me now, provider but unfortunately you can not receive or place calls on the premises. Like I said though, I loved the hotel, the staff, the restaurant, the wine hour and the location....just business wise it is tough to be on a week long trip without the use of your phone. At least I could e-mail from tablet!

Unique place to stay - wonderful

We stayed in one of the Lux suites with our dog and it was a great experience. Has a great 50s-60s vibe... very comfortable, clean, prompt service, very friendly staff. Skip the boring same old places and try the Hotel Lumen! Dogs really are welcomed! Definitely will stay there again on our next trip to Dallas.

AWESOME

The room was awesome. The tub was to die for. The staff was exremely nice and accommmodating. The bed was the most comfortable hotel bed I have ever slept in. Would definitely reccomend this hotel and would love to stay there again!
