We had a great stay over the weekend, checking out 8/1/21. No construction as mentioned in prior review. Complimentary breakfast 7/31/21 was Gourmet, and ready in a few minutes as we were leaving soon for a fishing trip. Allowing me to shower by the pool in a private bathroom after check out made my trip home much better. Bike rental from the hotel was reasonably priced, and allowed a great Duval Street experience along with a scenic ride around the south end of the island. Viewing the stars on the pier at night was a great memory with my son.

Tropical Storm Elsa came through during our stay and the hotel staff did not move us from our oceanfront room. It rained in our room, and the waves hit the door so hard it broke the door. No one checked in on us. We couldn’t leave for two days, we were down to a small bottle of water and granola bars. Once we could leave the front desk staff just apologized and moved us to a smaller room with no porch, balcony, jacuzzi tub and much smaller with no lower rate. This was our honeymoon. I called the front desk asking for towels, coffee and toilet paper and they never came, called the next day, they never came, we actually ran out of toilet paper and had to raid the cleaning cart ourselves to get a roll of toilet paper and had to get the hard towels from the pool in order to have clean towels for bathing. They just said they were sorry. We paid over $4000 for this once in a lifetime honeymoon only to be disappointed. Oh, and I forgot to mention the horrible smell coming from the rotting seaweed that is on the small beach that is there. You can’t eat at the cafe they have because it’s downwind from the seaweed and between the heat, the chickens and roosters pooping everywhere and rotting seaweed you just can’t eat and have to go elsewhere. I would not recommend this resort to anyone and was highly disappointed about this trip that I counted down to for months.

Some thoughts check in/out fast Allowed one cleaning in 7 days "because of covid" No microwave. Even Hotel 6 has a microwave. Bed was a pillow top. Maybe old. Not comfortable. Just lumpy. Coffee maker broken. Would brew 2 cups even when set to one. So I had to always keep 2 cups under it. Arrived Saturday night after traveling all day. 7 year old was hungry so we needed to grab a bite at the resort restaurant. It was about 8 in the evening. It was not busy and there were plenty of tables. And clearly the night life was just beginning. The hostess and the waitress both treated us like an annoyance I guess because we weren't there to drink at the bar. My wife had a question about one of the dishes and the reply was "I don't know how to explain the food to you, you might want to google it". Food got to us cold about 45 min later. I think this meal with tip was around 80 bucks. Beach right near the restaurant smelled like rotten eggs. I know its because of the seaweed rotting and is normal. But this was not normal. There was a pile of seaweed about 12 feet high and 20 ft wide right near the restaurant that had been piled up where the wind could blow that smell right at you. Now we know why people weren't eating there. It WAS BAD. A week on the island and to several of the beaches. None of those spots stunk like this. Could not see the bottom of pool. The ocean may have been clearer. Got better as week went on.

Check in process was not easy. A serious run around for a trip I booked 4 months in advance. Would not return to this property. Seemed very unorganized and other upset customers trying to check in at the same time.
