Hotel did not provide the room type that had been reserved.

This was a very clean and lovely hotel. Nice location close to the beach. We had only one problem. My husband and I were traveling with our 2 teen age sons and had reserved a room with two queen size beds. Three days before our arrival, I called the hotel to confirm our reservation and the two queen beds. Upon arrival, we were given a room with one queen bed and a pull out couch. We told them we had reservations for two queen beds but were told they had none available. My sons spent 4 very uncomfortable nights with the sleepers springs sticking into their backs. I feel that when I called to confirm the reservation, they lied to me so I would not cancel. Not very nice.

Claridge

Pros: Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet, bus stop directly across the street, close to south beach miami strip
Cons: daily resort fee even if unused
Classy, sophisticated hotel with character. We loved the hotel and room decor. This hotel is on Collins & 35th so you can get to the center of the night life quick and easy. Hotel menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Hardly ran into staff but when we did they were friendly and welomfig

Great location & very comfortable

Pros: Free Internet, Quiet, close to the beach, easy parking
Came here for a wedding. Wanted something comfortable but not too pricey, clean and modern but not too trendy, and something very close to the beach but not by all the clubs. We were very surprised to find all of these at the Claridge. Parking was also easy - we parked on the street - which is free from 6pm to 8am. If you can drag out of bed that early - you'll save lots of money. The rooms are recently renovated, but have an antique look - so things are very clean and new with a nice sense of style. The hotel is 200 yards from the beach and the boardwalk, and no one really hangs out in this area - so you'll have the beach all to yourselves. So strange that it's only a few blocks away from all the hubbub of Lincoln ave. All in all, it was exactly what we were hoping for. Thanks!

This hotel wasn't the greatest

Cons: Nothing close
My experience at this hotel wasn't the best. Upon arrival I was told my room wasn't available because the guest who were there before me refused to leave. So I was directed to the Courtyard Marriott for one night which was a nicer place but was inconvenient for me at that moment because I was tired and hungry after a long fight from Los Angeles. The good part is everything was set up for me which made my transition smooth. My room at the Marriott was a matchbook but was clean and had a comfortae bed. The next day I had to check out of the Marriot by noon but my Claridge room Wasn't available until after three. Good thing my friend took me to the Keys because I would've had to carry my bAgs around for four hours. The other bad thing about this hotel is they don't have a Bellman. So I had to ask the cab driver to carry my bags up and down front steps. After spending the day in the Keys I checked into my room. I was starving and couldn't order room service so I starved all night. I woke up at Five am to go on a day cruise to the Bahamas and found there was no hot water in the shower or sink. I called front desk and was told nothing could be done cuz maintenance comes at 9am. I ended up having to take a cold shower early in the morning not to mention I almost fell because the tub was so slippery. When I came back from cruise the same thing happened. I couldnt order anything to eat. That night my water was still cold so front desk clerk came to check it and said if it didn't work he would give me another room He found the correct position to give me hot water. The floor felt grimy and the bed wasn't soft. Overall I'd say don't stay here. Ive had better experiences at Motel 6.

Good value for the money

Pros: Quiet
Cons: No free Internet, Poor breakfast
Close to the beach, the price is right, rooms are large enough, the restorant needs improvement (food quality)

Cons: Nothing close, Noisy
It was a moderately nice hotel, however it is in need of a renovation

Cute decor in a more quiet location.

I loved the decor/theme of this hotel. And after observing other hotels in the neighborhood, this felt quaint and unique with it's ethnic, rustic charm. The other neighboring hotels are an eye sore and are either under developed or in construction. But once in the hotel, you can relax in the lobby and enjoy the sun roof during the day, and/or enjoy the little jacuzzi in the back. Unfortunately unlike many other hotels in Miami, this one doesn't have a pool. The staff are very accomodating after the many requests my friends and I have. Located in a more quiet neighborhood compared to south beach, it's a more relaxing area that I'd prefer. And just cross the street to get to the boardwalk & beach, it's real convenient. Plus a short cab drive will take you to the shopping strips of Miami. Or just take the bus.

Top Hotel, handy location.

Very impressed. Lovely hotel which has recently been re-modelled with a Spanish hacienda flavour. Excellent spa in the middle of attrium and restaurant on site. Bus stop directly over the road from hotel and a $2.00 fare will get you just about anywhere in Miami. Clean beach virtually directly opposite hotel, (about 50 metres), Could not fault the room or service, except for a faulty remote control for the tv which was a minor annoyance. Would definately stay there again.
