The property is definitely not “Lakefront”, it’s views are overlooking a retention pond with a broken down fence in front of it, I called the resort a few days before and was told I could do early check in but when I got to the resort they refused to allow the early check in and was rude about it. The hotel was not in a good area; the room was ok but there were no trash cans, and no rags. When I tried to take a shower the stopper for the tub would not go fully into the shower mode so I ended up having to lay down and put my head under the faucet part of the tub to rinse my hair. Also, it needs to be noted on somewhere here that the hotel charges a $50 deposit and no certain time frame for when it will be put back on my card; one person says 1-2 days and another says 4-5 days I’m not usually one to complain but the pictures are not accurate and while not the most posh or expensive hotel I could have picked for my anniversary, I will definitely not be staying here again.

The hotel was loud, cars in and out of the parking lot all night. The room was dirty and stuff was broken. The lock was broken off inside the room. Reminded me of a flop house and I am sure drugs were being dealt all night in the parking lot. We checked in late so didn't have options. We left early the next morning and found another hotel. IT was GROSS!!!

This was an experience. I thought I would try the Maingate Lakeside Resort out because it was cheaper than the other options but I won't stay there again. Usually I'm not too picky about my hotel because to me it's just a place to sleep while I go about my day. First the Pro's about this property: The bed and pillows were comfortable and the property looks nice upon arrival. It is also reasonably close to Walt Disney World which was why we were in Orlando. The Cons: Check-in was interesting. If you've ever seen Zootopia, there's a really nice sloth that works at the DMV who moves painfully slowly; well, the gentleman that checked me in matched that description perfectly. He was a nice enough guy, but for a little while I thought maybe I was being pranked. It was by far the slowest check-in I've experienced in my life. Add that to the $26 per day resort fee I was not aware of and check in was not the best experience. Another problem we experienced was that upon returning to our room at 9:30pm, there was no hot water for a shower. None. It wasn't even warm. My guess is that was because everyone was doing the same thing we were - getting back from the parks and then taking a shower but, again, I can't remember the last time I had no hot water at a hotel. Another problem we experienced was I had 2 spiders and 2 small beetle-type bugs in my bed that I had to kill as they were scurrying around. Finally, there was a really sketchy guy in the parking lot when we checked out at 3:30am

Stood in line for over 2 hours AFTER being there twice before. Was told we couldn’t check in before 3 then at 4, they told us our room still wasn’t ready. Took our money and refused to give it back! Just by walking inside the building, it was nothing like the pictures and was disgusting!! HIGHLY do NOT recommend to anyone

We had a horrible stay. Waited TWO Hours to check in at 11:30pm. Was given a non working key had to go back and wait for them to finish with a customer to get a new key. Room had mold on the ceiling, water damage to furniture and carpet was filthy. The AC barely worked and building was so run down. A person there was given a key to an occupied room and walked in on people sleeping. Breakfast was canned fruit cocktail, juice, bread & bagels. No cream cheese, only butter, jelly and peanut butter. Will NOT ever stay here again and if I didn’t have a small child that needed sleep, i would have left immediately.

The room was dirty and actually flea infested. My grand kids are all ate up by flees. Pay a resort fee and daily service fee, but they. Act like it's COVID days no room cleaning. It obviously shows. I've stayed in cheap hotels before. This place is the worst. I'll never book it again.

Like staying in a ghost town

I was with three friends. They told us we would have two kingsize beds. Instead we had two FULL (smaller than queen) beds. Very crowded with four grown men in two tiny beds. The heater didn't work and it was in the 50s. I complained to the desk. They told us they'd send somebody to fix it. They didn't until the next morning, half an hour before checkout, so we slept cold. Weirdly there was no trash can anywhere in the room. There were only 3 bath towels, and no hand towels. (They happily gave me more when I went to the desk to ask). There must be 500 rooms in this complex in 10 different buildings, but it seemed mostly abandoned. It was like staying in a ghost town.

Honestly, you get what you pay for

If you expect high quality customer service and comfortable beds with clean carpets, this is not the place for you. I would go in with lower expectations. It’s a great place to just go to sleep- not stay for a full vacation. The ceilings are disgusting and I would never shower there. But it was fine to just a few hours of sleep.

This hotel is run down and in process of "low budget renovation". It is clean, pools are clean and it is cheap. Check in takes FOR EVER!!! Expect to wait for an hour at check in.

Electricity only worked In part of the room. Only 1 of the 2 beds had pillows. Shower was covered in someone’s hair like it has not been cleaned. And there was no soap to wash hands only 1 small bottle of complimentary shampoo. Looked and felt really dirty. Glad we only stayed for one night.

Worst experience I ever had, The rooms are dirty, the walls full of mold, smell bad, our room smell as cigarette, the outside area is cover with dog’s poo. We were charged a resort fee and the place doesn’t deserve not even 1 star. Do not stay here !!!
