I booked this property because I wanted a less expensive place to spend two nights. Based on prior reviews, the Atria Inn had an 8.4 (very good) rating; therefore, I thought it would be a good choice. Frankly, I do not understand how this place received such a good rating and I am suspicious about the prior reviews. I travel domestically and internationally about 75-90 nights a year. This experience started badly when I arrived about 12:00 pm (before the 3:00 check-in time) and was told that the room was clean and ready; however, if I wanted an early check-in, that I would need to pay extra for the privilege. That told me that the owners here were “all about the money”. I have never, ever, encountered an early check-in fee. Hotels typically appreciate guests and try to accommodate them. This place reflects the fact that it is “all about the money”. Everything is “low end” (towels, soap, shampoo, no tissues, etc. There is deferred maintenance apparent everywhere ( the bathtub is ugly from pealing paint, there is a large crack under the door (about which I would have been especially uncomfortable had I been on the first floor; think mice, rats, snakes, spiders, lizards, etc), the outside had almost no landscaping, there was some trash in easy to reach spots; however, no one cared enough to pick it up. The room had a king bed, but only two (2) regular size pillows. There was a one cup coffee maker; however, no coffee “cartridges” were provided.
The bed & linens were clean.
