Aloft & Marriott—>shame on you!!! You take my reservation, but you can’t hold my reservation (even though I had already paid) then you think sending me 30 minutes away from my destination is supposed to make ruining the trip salvaged! Your employees confirm that this happens ALL the time! They call it a “standard” to overbook and send people 30 minutes away! Best yet, your employees admit that your website “still” states you have 180 rooms yet you only have “150”! Shame on you and good luck being in business for long with these shenanigans!!! Please share my post because this is truly an unforgivable negligence!!!

Cons: I felt the shower floor was a little "slimy"
Location: Close to the university, which is what we needed.
We needed a hotel close to the University. ALoft is within walking distance to the center of campus.

Easy stay near university

Pros: Location close to the university, friendly staff, free internet, ease of breakfast in lobby.
Cons: Hallways and rooms are kind of dark. All those dark gray walls! Pillows provided are too thick. My neck was killing me.
Location: Easy walking distance to UofA and the usual cafes and bars near a university.
We stayed at this hotel for two nights. It's got a very slick look and the rooms are clean and well appointed, though I found the bed a little too firm and the pillows too thick. The staff are friendly, though, and the location can't be beat if you are doing anything at the UofA. Breakfast is not included, but you can buy breakfast items (coffee, bagels, cereal, fresh fruit, etc.), in the lobby. Parking garage is free. Would stay here again.
