First of all, this is a unique and fun property with great decor and vibe. The staff is super-friendly and seemed to lean forward in wanting to make for a good experience. It has been recently renovated and the changes are all for the better. Now for the not-so-good. There is a major disconnect in something as simple as getting a room cleaned. The first full day we returned to the room and it had not been serviced. Staff said we should have been asked at check-in whether or not we wanted daily service. The default is that the rooms are NOT routinely cleaned and serviced. OK, lesson learned. Next morning, we advised front desk we wanted room cleaned, told the housekeeping staff we wanted it cleaned, and left a hanger on the door requesting cleaning. imagine our surprise when returning in the evening, NO SERVICE again! And this was not one room, but TWO. Management was apologetic and responsive (offered a comp for beverages). Not sure why the disconnect, but management really needs to fix this. We also noted that trash left on stairs was not routinely cleaned up, and tables were not routinely cleaned. If asked, staff was quick to respond, but shouldn't have to ask. Again, this is issue with management, not attitude of staff. I would still recommend staying here for a Tucson visit, as I think these problems will be ironed out. Bottom line: highly recommended, but don't assume rooms will be cleaned/towels refreshed, etc.
