Check-in was quick and easy. The facility was very clean and comfortable! The only complaint is self-parking was across the street and you had to walk through a tunnel-like hallway. I would have been very nervous if I had been by myself.

First day in Nashville

Confirmed early check-in and room day before...not ready at arrival. Gave another room...dirty socks in pull out bed and was handicap room... hanging clothes touched the floor. Half hour to move room. No concierge? Tried to order flowers for Chief's Dinner for Vanderbilt Surgeon daughter..told no sorry. Asked for concierge... didn't have one. On a Saturday at 11PM...room service, bar, restaurant and Starbucks all closed???? On a Summer Saturday??? Sundries section half empty in evening, and very few choices to begin with. Complimentary shuttle ...asked if they could drive to specific location...was told yes, no problem...driver dropped us off blocks away from destination saying not allowed to go further... wife very upset walking through drunk crowds to get to dinner reservation. Very disappointed in my stay at this Marriott...have stayed at many over the years and wife is a rewards member... always had excellent service in the past. This was not a good experience...have to rethink next stay. By the way...no one in management contacted us to correct any of our issues.

the hotel itself was in a good location.

The 2 mile shuttle service offered by the hotel is a joke. Before booking my stay there, I inquired about the service offered to get you to local areas since I knew that I would not have my car during the daytime. And I have issues with walking due to a leg injury. I was assured that they would take me and pick me up anywhere within a 2 mile radius of the hotel. I needed to go one-half mile. I had the exact address. The driver dumped me off near the address and said if I couldn't find it to call him back. As it turn out, a nice lady who happened to be there gave me a ride to my destination. When I called to be picked up, again I gave the exact address. The temperature was 98 degrees. They said about 20 minutes. After calls to them, I was told they were 3 blocks away, etc. After standing in the heat for about an hour and a half, I finally saw an emergency vehicle from Vanderbilt University parked nearby. I walked up and said "Can you help me?' to driver who took me back to the hotel. I am 69 years old, on Blood Pressure meds and this was dangerous to my health. I didn't go on another tour that I was planning because I was afraid to use this service again. Also we received our bill and were overcharged for wi fi use but this was taken care of when we inquired about it at checking out. It was a $40 charge. I would never go back or refer anyone to this establishment.

Great location/ renovating

Location: So close to so much in Nashville. Parthenon is literally across the street. Basically on campus at Vanderbilt. Downtown and all the music is 10min.
This was our second visit to this hotel. On this trip, we were given a newly renovated room. The new design is beautiful; the room is comfortable. I am assuming we were the first to stay there because there was still construction debris littering the floor. The cleaning staff no longer use a vacuum because of the beautiful new wood-look laminate floor. The damp mopping doesn't pick up all the particles from construction. There was grout and adhesive footprinted on the floor as well as sheet rock mud and debris on the floor. Not in copious amounts, but enough to be annoying. I did notify the front desk and was assured it would be taken care of, it was not.(note the earlier mention that the staff doesn't use a vacuum.) I would caution other visitors to ask for an older room for awhile. The fumes put off by the new hall carpet and all the new furniture as well as flooring adhesive was overwhelming. Mild headache and a mild asthma attack. I'm sure once it dissipates, all will be OK. Thankfully, we weren't there much. The staff were very helpful and friendly. I would stay here again. Our last trip was perfect. Not holding it against them, renovation is necessary. Sometimes it comes with bumps in the road.

Average at best, not worth the money.

Average and very expensive. They charge $37 to park! Just rediculous. Breakfast did not start until 7, we had to leave at 7:15 for a meeting so didn't eat breakfast. Plastic coffee cups were in the room. We should have stayed at the Hampton Inn.

Our dinner hours listed on our website are based on normal guest patterns. Breakfast is 6:30 am – 11:00 am on weekdays and 7:00 am – 11:00 am on the weekends. Sorry the times did not suit your needs during your last stay. We hope to have a chance to better serve you the next time you are in Nashville. good location/frustrating parking

Pros: great coffee shop and bar comfortable beds
Cons: parking wifi
We were here for a weekend visiting our college freshman. Location is great and the room was very comfortable and clean. The parking situation is extremely frustrating. You can pay $35 a night for valet or pay $30 to self park in the garage (which is not attached to the hotel). Very inconvenient for us as it was raining all weekend. Every time we left, there was some malfunction with the ticketing system and our key wouldn't work, so we couldn't even get out of the garage without having to press the button for help in getting the gate open. For $30 a night- we expected more. If it's this inconvenient-- shouldn't be this expensive. Also- had to pay for wifi. Practically unheard of these days. We will be returning to Nashville regularly but not to this hotel.
