Dirty and Smelly

While I realize the hotel is going through a remodeling phase, there's no excuse for the dirtiness and stale smell of my room and hallways. My linens were old and gray, the towels smelled like mold, and there was crud growing around the baseboards in the kitchenette. Under the table / desk, was a bunch of loose wires and cords. The fire sprinkler in the bathroom leaked onto the floor. Nothing pleasant about this stay.

Good staff but place needs work

Pros: Staff! Very proud of their work and always went the extra mile to help.
Cons: The building itself as well as the furnishings.
Location: Sweet Tomatoes is a wonderful salad buffet restaurant just steps away.
The staff couldn't have been friendlier or worked harder to make our stay comfortable and convenient. The evening reception was markedly improved since our last stay: great salads, wonderful fresh fruit, more than enough for a filling meal. I do have to say, though, that unless you're on the fourth floor, you can hear people romping around upstairs. Also, they are going to remodel the end of the year and they need to. It's a great location but the whole place is showing wear. So, I would recommend it for a stay with the above caveats.

Unimpressive-staff indifferent to customer service

Started off not good, toilet had unrecognizable stuff in it. Front desk staff came down and just flushed it and said he would "comp" us snacks for the inconvenience. (We did not take him up on that) Okay? Next day was a busy day, got in late and called front desk to see if they knew of any restaurants that delivered, he said Domino's. I asked if he had the number and he said just look up the online ordering it's faster and easier. Okay? Next morning, went down to get coffee right when they opened the morning breakfast and they were out of staple supplies, I asked an employee if they could refill and she said there wasn't any on the premises. It's a very busy area and hotel, why in the world would they not be properly stocked? The overall feel of the hotel was unimpressive and uncaring. We won't stay in a Homewood Suites again.

Very easy smooth stay

Checkin, checkout, room quality, friendly staff and breakfast were all great. TV channel access with the remote was awkward. Didn't have an easy to use menu.

Very comfortable

Pros: Very comfortable room with breakfast served every morning.
Stayed for 5 days and really liked having separate bedroom and living room with kitchen. Also, breakfast is served every morning and happy hour during the week.

Best stay in this area

This is the best hotel we have found in Beaverton, OR. Great location, easy to get to. Great room, comfy bed and sheets. Was pleasantly surprised at how thick the bathroom towels were. One bedroom suite has a sitting/living room with TV, kitchen has dishwasher and ice maker in refrigerator. 24 hour coffee available, free breakfast is good and the price was right. We weren't there during the time the dinners were happening. Room was clean, hotel is clean. Some areas (stairwell carpet) were a bit shabby but its clean. I highly recommend this hotel. Great price, great location, great staff!

So many plusses!

Pros: Free breakfast, Free Internet, Quiet
I would definitely return to the Homewood Suites. We were taking a vacation to Portland but found the rates at the Homewood Suites to be exponentially more affordable than anything downtown, and yet it was only about a 15 minute drive to anywhere we wanted to go in the city. I couldn't believe how spacious our suite was. Normally at this price I expect one king bed and a tiny kitchenette. Instead we got a private bedroom with a king bed, a whole living room with pull-out sofa bed, and a full-size kitchen! It felt like a home away from home. Add to that the unbelievable bonuses of free breakfast AND DINNER! I have literally never stayed at a hotel that provided complimentary dinner before. It was a very nice touch. If I had to think of a downside, it would be that there is no hot tub (not really a big deal) and that when I tried to check out there was nobody working at the front desk. Granted, that was at 4:00 in the morning, so probably not usually a busy time. I absolutely recommend this hotel.
