Beautiful wooded setting, fine dining on property. Delicious breakfast - you can sit outside to eat that too. Firepit with S'more's bar. So fun. There were lots of families with kids while we were there (on a Friday night) which did distract a bit from our after dinner time at the fire, but it is a family property

My husband stayed in the the one bedroom cabin with hot tub. Cabin was small but clean. We enjoyed our stay. We would definitely stay here again.

Mountain getaway

My husband and I went on a 2 week road trip to celebrate our 30th Anniversary. We stayed at the Dancing Bear in the Elkmont Cabin. The cabin was beautifully appointed with a great view. Our room had a small kitchenette, a comfy bed (featherbed topper & pillows) and full bathroom. The deck had seating that was perfect for morning coffee and a jacuzzi hot tub great for evenings. My only complaint was too much chlorine in the hot tub. Otherwise it was perfect. A nice continental breakfast was waiting for us to have when we wanted with a lodge nearby for hot meals. We toured the Smoky Mountains and visited Gatlinburg. It was the cherry on to of out great trip.

Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate your comment about the smell of chlorine in the hot tub and will switch to a different brand of bromine tabs that are not as strong. We hope you had a wonderful stay in the Great Smoky Mountains with us and we look forward to your next visit.

We stayed in a new, clean cabin. Restaurant was excellent but expensive.

Great retreat on the quiet side of the Smokies!

Pros: Fabulous feather beds! The decor is perfect mountain lodge.
Cons: Our loft cabin had a tight bathroom, but was sufficient. The decor, privacy & hot tub on the deck more than made up for it!
Location: Apple Valley Shops & Cafe (had a good breakfast), Cades Cove Cellars, and of course, the main draw - hiking in the Smokies!
What a wonderful discovery on the quiet side of the Smokies! If your purpose is a retreat in nature, yet surrounded by the comforts of home, this is the perfect place. Nearby Apple Valley shops & Cafe, and Cades Cove Cellars are great little diversions to the solitude of the cabins and grounds of Dancing Bear. We are already trying to figure out how & when we can go back! :)

Luxurious and awesome

This place was just the right combination: rustic and quiet on the outside, upscale comfy on the inside. I felt spoiled as soon as I drove up, and more so when I walked in the door or my cabin. A couple little downsides: I had trouble making the hot tub work. The jets turned on but it never really got all that hot and temperature buttons did nothing. Not a big deal because of the huge soaking tub inside the cabin, but after using that around 6:00 the night I checked in, there was zero hot water the next morning. Probably just a small tank, but something to keep in mind if that's going to ruin your trip. I personally didn't mind too much.
