"This place was absolutely perfect. It's located on a very quiet, peaceful loop - no noise from cars racing up and down Rt 12. The décor was lovely and relaxing. You're provided a pass to Southern Shores locations on the Sound and one which provides beach access. The owners were quick to respond to all my questions. I completely enjoyed myself and would definitely stay there again."

Check in was very casual and easy, and I enjoyed the views of the sound. They made sure everything was tidy and clean for guests. "The size & layout of the house was as listed. However, the house was not clean, there were two bags of laundry laying in front of the steps to the house, cobwebs in several places & clutter everywhere, there was a light switch and outlet in the living room missing plates, trash under the furniture & beds, floors were not clean. Lid to trash can was broken and the toilet seat in the master bathroom was cracked. We did not have a parking pass for the private access to the beach nor were bikes available as listed. We contacted Vacasa rentals & provided pictures. They sent someone out to clean while we were out having lunch. It was slightly cleaner when we returned but trash still under furniture. Darren, a Vacasa employee dropped by mid-week to drop off a quilt. My husband showed him the missing light switch and outlet covers and the laundry laying in front of the house. Darren picked up the laundry and the came back later that day to replace the missing plates and brought over the parking passes that we were told on Tuesday we have to drive 30 minutes away to Corolla to pick up. On a scale of 1-5, I would give Vacasa 3 stars, but I would give Darren 5+."

"We had a great stay at Oceans 86...so much so we booked again for next year before we even left! Fully-stocked kitchen. Highly recommended for anyone coming from the north (VA, DC, MD, PA, NY, NJ, OH, etc) as this Southern Shores location saves you bunches of travel time due to how close it is to the bridge to the OBX."
