Very dirty room experience
This hotel was so dirty, I would not recommend staying here. I never leave reviews but I want to for this hotel since we had such a bad experience. Upon checking in the hotel feels less nice than I expected, the general area is very full of stuff and furniture and does not feel nice. But once we got to our room there was trash all over the rug and on the dresser and the toilet and sink were not wiped. I went back downstairs (the elevators take a few minutes each time since they are very slow), and asked them to clean our room, so we waited for that and they seemed confused by the things we told them needed cleaned and didn’t tell housekeeping and just had the front desk guy go up and look to clean it which he didn’t clean any of it but told us he had cleaned it. So, I went back down and asked for them to clean the trash up and vacuum the trash off the rug and wipe down those areas and they said they would send up housekeeping and they never did. So we left to go get dinner and let them know that no one came to clean and requested cleaning again and also contacted hotels.com to have them try to change our room or have the room cleaned. Such a bad experience for the few hours we needed a room and just so dirty. We stayed one night before a cruise and the hotel was sold out since so many other cruisers were there in a Friday night so couldn’t change rooms but they ended up cleaning the room after hotels.com called.

My friend and I booked this hotel a few days before our trip. We are in our early 30s and we felt extremely safe. It was the perfect location in old San Juan (walkable to so many great restaurants and shops), clean, cozy, and very friendly staff. Highly recommend booking this hotel.
