Beach access was good, staff was good but need training to efficiently handle customer needs. Wyndham hotel needs major updates! Elevators are slow. In room 902, water was cold, and had to run shower for 10 minutes to get hot water! Patio door damaged and difficult to open. Patio window has not been cleaned by hotel staff. Very dirty! No other room available to move. Simple hotel amenities not available for $170 per night paid. Other new hotels in area seem much better. Not being from area, if I knew about other properties, I would have never booked stay at Wyndham Oceanfront!

We were happy to have you as our guest but are sorry you did not find your accommodations to be all that you expected. Located right on the beach on the quiet north end, guests usually love spending their days with their toes in the sand and evenings hanging out at our outdoor Patio bar listening to live music or playing a round of cornhole. We will let our maintenance team know about the ice machines not working and have them contact the vendor who services them. (we are sorry for the inconvenience) Thank you for staying with us and providing feedback and we hope to see you back again in the future.

Beach view was nice what was disappointing was microwave on second floor didn't work despite the numerous times that the staff was told about the issue. Had to use microwave on the other side of the lobby and my room was on the ninth floor. Constantly asking for towels, had to go to local laundromat to wash towels because washer and dryer was out of service. Had to go and get coffee not enough staff.

There has been a workforce shortage for us as well as many other local hotel and businesses and we’re sorry that this has impacted your oceanfront experience. It is our hope that you still found value in our oceanfront location and had a chance to enjoy the beach during your visit. Guests often find our location convenient for a semi-private beach area and just a short drive away from some attractions at the boardwalk and nearby like the Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center, excursions and more. I wanted to bring my mom to the beach for a nice birthday getaway but was very disappointed. I spent over $1400 for a room and there were no blankets, we couldn’t get more than one towel (workers were not very nice/responsive) and the carpets were DISGUSTING. Full of stains and look like it’s never been vacuumed. We also found roaches inside our room and on the balcony. I spoke with other guests throughout the hotel and they were having the same issues and disappointed in the hotel. The website makes everything look a lot better. Wish I read the reviews before booking. I do no recommend and we will not be back.

Please accept our sincere apology for not providing you with the quality experience you deserved. There should have been proper bedding in your room along with clean accommodations. Guest satisfaction is important to us which is why we monitor online comments frequently. We will share your feedback with our staff and make every attempt at improving our housekeeping consistency and overall level of service.

The beach view and easy parking were the best part of our experience. As for the room and services—it was very disappointing. There was no room service or shuttle service (the shuttle driver was out of the country until the end of the month) during our stay. When we arrived on Thursday, check-in and parking was a breeze. Our room however was extremely disappointing. When we arrived there were no towels, the room and patio smelled of urine, the room phone did not work, and there was trash under the beds. We informed the front desk-they said if the phone wasn’t working it was because of a third party issue and that they would send housekeeping over with towels, air freshener etc. We ended up calling the front desk 3 separate times the first day to request towels/air fresheners. We finally got the towels ourselves and never got an air freshener. On Saturday, we had to request clean towels, and basic room maintenance (restock toilet paper, empty trash baskets—which ended up being left outside in the hallway by housekeeping). There was not an option to recycle. The key pad died the first night and we were not able to use the keys cards, until it was fixed the next day, which meant if we wanted to leave the room/hotel, then one of us had to stay back. The room had mold/water damage seeping on the ceiling right above the bed. The lobby, pool and grounds were nice. Having stayed at numerous Wyndham hotels, I was anticipating a much different room experience.

The location is at the end of beach not by boardwalk so not as many people. Beach wasn't as crowed as it is at the other end. Two swimming pools, one inside and one out. But I didn't think it was very clean. Couldn't find ice machine (no signs)Didn't have ANY towels in room and after going to front desk to get them and got back to room no hand towels. Nats in room.

Our staff has been working hard to uphold high levels of service despite vendor delays and a shortage of work force. There is nothing we want more than to welcome our guests to the beach and help them have the beach experience they anticipated. We apologize this was not the case during your recent stay but do hope you were still able to enjoy our peaceful north end of the beach and explore the many fun attractions in the Virginia Beach area.

The adjacent restaurant was nice. Check-in time was supposed to be 4pm. Our room wasnt ready until after 8pm. No housekeeping for the entire stay. I guess others experienced the same so there was garbage and trash all in the hallways. Virginia must have legalized Marijuana so Wyndham resort must have been promoting the distribution or sale because the entire property smelled like it. Not really an ideal stay for smaller children not from a supposedly 3-4 star hotel. Then to top things off the hotel attendants somehow charged everyone $300-400 fee off their credit/debit cards. When guests checked in and had used Travelocity/expedia or any other 3rd party booking agent they got extra withdrawals from the accounts. Then hotel management could only say well were sorry we will discount your stay please call your booking agent and let them know the adjustments we made. Supposedly the money will be returned in 3-5 business days which I've yet to see. I probably never use TRAVELOCITY again. I definitely won't be staying @ a Wyndham Resort!!!

While we are grateful for you choosing us in your travel plans and enjoying the service and delicious menu options at our oceanfront Surf Club Ocean Grille Restaurant, it is upsetting to read about the condition of your guest room and the neighboring guests who were breaking hotel policy of our non-smoking hotel. We apologize for the frustrations with the charges done in error and are sure they have or very soon will be corrected. We hope that despite this unfortunate situation, that you were still able to explore the beachfront area, visit the Boardwalk and many other fun local attractions.

Although everyone that works here was pleasant and kind. This resort was dirty in the hallways garage by the elevator wasn’t taken out for our 2 day stay and our toilet wouldn’t flush upon arrival. The toilet wasn’t fixed until the next day when I went down and refused to leave the lobby without a maintenance person. Since checking out our visa has been charged a second time for our stay even though we paid through Travelocity. I’ve been trying to call the hotel and they have hung up on me 4 times. This place needs some help.

I appreciated the free parking; walk-out to beach; general area the hotel was in had less crowds. However, cleanliness of hallways was disappointing. I would think that would be at least the bare minimum.

We have stayed at this location in the past and it was ok, but we loved the view and quietness away from the boardwalk. This time things were absolutely horrible. No wash cloths, no hand towels, a single bath towel and that was just the start. The wallpaper was coming off, every vending machine was out of order, the internet was out, the water temperature was either so hot one day or so cold the next day, even the station to wash your feet off after the beach was broken. We tried to eat breakfast one morning and there was 1 waitress for the entire restaurant and they made you get your own coffee of you wanted it. We weren't alone as every person we rode the elevator with or ran into all had the same horror story. It was bad enough that we decided to cut our only vacation in 2 years short.
