The pool is freezing with no heater and jacuzzi broken. The staff is aggressively trying to sell their other resorts any moment they see you. I was not impressed on the interior and the things felt rundown and unkept. This seemed to be the consensus of the travelers we met and I’d never return there.

Checkin was easy and fast we were upgraded to a villa with a butler Roica and she was great , Raymon at the Mexican restaurant was fabulous, Jesus at the bar by the main pool was nice and made good drinks he knew what we wanted as soon as he saw us, the Italian restaurant was very good have to get tiramisu is made right in front of you, there are so many more really good staff not sure names

First off, the staff is really great! Everyone was very willing to help in anyway they could, and all were very friendly. The property itself is very spacious and kept very clean. The housekeepers did a great job cleaning our room. Some of the furniture is a bit old however, that’s not a big deal. There are a few things that could be improved upon, however. The main issue we had was lack of available chairs. There are only 11 Palapas on the beach… Not nearly enough for the number of guests. Lack of Pool chairs is also a problem and one has to get up between 630 and 7 AM to reserve chairs. This is definitely not ideal while on vacation. The other issue is the advertised Jacuzzi. Actually, It is non-functional and people use it as a kiddie pool. Lastly, this is a “timeshare“ property, so be prepared for the sales pitch…the giveaways are not worth the time spent in the presentation. All in all it was a very enjoyable vacation… The property just needs to invest in more beach chairs/umbrellas

Grand Park Royal is a fabulous facility! Our room was spacious and we had a great view of the turquoise waters of the gulf! The shower in our room was especially nice with dual shower heads and a bench that made shaving my legs so easy! But the best thing about the resort were it’s employees! We had amazing service from Marco, Pedro, Ivan, Alicia, and Hector! Fermin made my omelet every morning with speed, precision, and love! I love this resort and will return again!

For context, I've only ever been to one other AI in Cancun, Paradisus pre-pandemic. Overall, this resort is "average" at best. If you're looking for value, good location in the HZ, and not looking for anything "special," Grand Park Royal fits the bill. We were two adult couples looking for a relaxing vacation, and we stayed 10 days. We won't be back due to better options for close to this price. Arrival: Foyer is nothing compared to Paradisus, no welcome drink, nothing to really make you feel at ease or welcome outside of "front desk is over there." Immediately after check-in, we were invited to an "intro breakfast and 90 minute presentation" the very next day. Don't go to the sales pitch for the vacation club - the "free stuff" isn't worth it. Room: We had a Deluxe Ocean View in the primary tower (lowest tier room) and it was adequate. A few things that were lackluster - the mattress we had on our king bed was hard as a rock, minibar only had 4 options, AC struggled to keep it cool, balcony door was poorly maintained. The food in all the restaurants, including the buffet was good, a few thing were stellar (table-side tiramisu). Don't waste your money at the Grand Prime Rib - the worst meal of the trip and one of the worst in my life. Two outstanding staff we absolutely loved - Carlos (server at the Italian) and Maria Jose - poolside server. Great beach and adult pool. Softest sand and widest beach from what we walked (north and south). Overall, good value.

This was an amazing property. The staff were so wonderful and hospitable. We were very well taken care of. The only thing that I can say is be aware that this property is a time share and they are very heavy on the sales. I was approached multiple times during my stay about booking a 90 minute orientation. I said no many, many times but they continued to ask.
