We typically love the Paradisus brand but have always stayed in the Reserve section. Now, with kids, we booked a regular room and it was disappointing. Midway through our trip, we were given a new room for reasons out of our control and it was much better and more comfortable. It really depends on what tower and room you are given. Our experience in Tower 2 wasn’t great but the rest of the resort is beautiful and the staff is amazing.

The vibe in the resort is not welcoming ; the servers are always expecting gratuity , even if it’s not busy if you don’t tip you will wait for a long time. The rooms are outdated and the mattress and pillow very hard and uncomfortable. The stake house is not included in the dining options, only if you pay $$$ and reserve in advance! The Mexican restaurant was terrible and the service as well. Check out is at 12:30pm we left the room at 1pm and got charged $100 USD for late check out , which is no where in their policy! Overall I wouldn’t recommend and will not return there! The only thing I like is the plants in the interior balconies, but not worth it!
