Well situated - on the St Charles trolley line and the E edge of the Garden District - between walkable boutiques and restaurants and the Quarter/Rue Bourbon night life. Our room was on the 3rd floor and faced the trolley line, so we had trolley noise, but it wasn't bad (more like a light bus than a freight train). The neighborhood is transitioning. Just to the N or E and you'll see run-down buildings, a lot of demo / urban renewal construction, and homeless people on the streets (~6 blocks E are mass homeless tent encampments under the MS river bridge - most visitors would NOT choose to walk through). To the S & W you're in the Garden District with posh homes and boutiques. We parked the minivan on the street rather than pay $30 per night - easy to find spaces within a block and saw no car theft / busted windows around the Wyndham. The rooms were very nice. Could use outlets near the bed for charging phones, etc... Lobby staff were very friendly and helpful. We DID get the time-share pitch on the way in (the "free gift" is a few copied pages of local recommendations) and they followed up by calling my cell phone the next day, but they DID stop when I told them No, the pitch was soft and short, and they weren't jerks about it. The pool and hot tub were under construction, so they weren't available. We had planned to hit the hot tub, but NOLA experienced freezing weather (!!) for much of our visit, so it seems doubtful we would have used either. I would stay here again.

When I arrived, the rooms weren't ready, and it was at least an hour past the check in time. We were told that it would be about an hour before the rooms would be ready. When we went to the rooms each room had one bed and there were 4 adults. I was told that I needed to specify at the time of checking in, how many beds were required. When I made the reservation it weas clearly for 2 adults in each room and 2 beds were reserved. The check in person said that they don't get that information when the reservation is made. They quickly remedied the situation, but they need to get the full information from the reservation.

In the Garden District on Streetcar line

Pros: The location was good since it was across from a streetcar stop and within walking distance to places to eat. The hotel was clean.
Cons: Bathroom ventilation. Better mattresses. Better wifi.
Location: It is in the Garden District across from a streetcar stop. Several restaurants nearby including one in the hotel which is expensive but has good food.
We have stayed at this hotel several times over the years. Now that it is a timeshare location, there is added pressure from the staff for nonmembers to attend "free" breakfasts and lunches for an opportunity to learn about becoming an owner. OUCH!!! We were on vacation and not inclined to waste time listening to presentations. We had a studio because of cost concerns. Based on previous experience we asked for a room that wasn't next to an elevator. The staff was accommodating with that request. One of the lamps didn't work and the only way to turn it off was to unplug it. The bathroom has no ventilation and the studio rooms are pretty compact. We finally went out and bought air freshener to use in the bathroom. We asked for guidance on obtaining a multi-day streetcar pass. The hotel used to provide that service but no longer.We were told we could obtain the passes at the CVS on Canal St. We were rudely informed by a CVS employee that wasn't the case. Fortunately, the Walgreens across the street does.
