Comfort Inn was fine. Surrounding area being in NYC was suspect. Getting transportation to & from hotel {especially to} at night unsafe. From hotel to airport not a problem.

The property is close to JFK and they have a shuttle that runs every 30 minutes (not sure about schedules). But there is no parking provided and it is next to impossible to find street parking. So don’t bring a vehicle!!

Parking: reservation website made it sound like onsite parking was available for $31/night, offsite $27. In fact, a lot was full when we arrived, and we were lucky to find parking for 3 cars on the streets around the hotel. Otherwise, the options were commercial parking lots far from the hotel, requiring taxi rides back to the hotel or the Air Train to the hotel shuttle.

For a quick overnight stay between flights, this is a great stop. My complaint is that the shuttle restrictions are not disclosed until after the booking was complete. It only runs on the hour and only between 0500-2300. There is no guarantee there will be room for your party. Our experience with the shuttle service was not good. The pick up at the airport was delayed by over 30 minutes and we only found out about the reality of the delay after the third time I called for the shuttle. At check in, we requested the 0500 shuttle and was told it was full. The desk manager offered to schedule us a taxi, at our expense. However, in the morning I called to request to change our time to 0445 taxi. That call went well, but in the lobby we discovered that we were among several parties whose taxi requests were not scheduled and at. Not at check in, and not by phone request that morning. I ended up getting an Uber. Do not stay here if you need to use the complimentary shuttle. Otherwise, the facility is comfortable for a long layover. Anything longer than one night and I would probably look for something a bit larger.
