Beautiful location. Staff is very friendly. We are told we have a partial view of the ocean....reality is, you can see water, but the view is more of the hotel next door. Very disappointing. Food is not good quality or varied. The resort continues to take away space of the average guest. They hold chaise lounges for members only of the Unlimited club. While we were there, we only saw one person using it. So many chaises lounges were not being used. There needs to be a larger area for adults only. Children were everywhere. The entertainment was less than acceptable compared to the past years. We have been patronizing this resort for several years and because of this past January's experience we are going to go somewhere else next year. Very dissatisfied.

The beach and sunsets were amazing. Do not miss the sunsets!!! They are therapeutic with a glass of wine. Rooms were fairly large and clean. Fridge was filled daily with drinks(Beer, Pop and Water) included. Mattress was not very good but okay after cocktailing all day. The additional security latch on our room was broken but we always felt safe. Plenty of security. Tipping everyone became a pain in the ass for an all inclusive. Found out drinks could be stiffened up about 3 days into the trip. Ask for extra if you like strong drinks.

Barely ok for the cost. Great facilities and room cleanliness. Good food but very lo cuality drinks. Perhaps more concerning is their affiliation with timeshare... Or whatever similar companies.
They allow and support their affiliates to set them up with their luring, no pressure program presentation of 90 minutes. Who, after 4 hours of talkin going from different rank sales people can no respect their commitment and drill on pressure to finally end up degrading the customer with "all you care about is the promotion prize and now you don't allow us to complete out transaction and we are not getting out bonus...bla bla" feeling humiliated we signed off on the luring prize of $100.00 credit to use in the resourt.
No client should endure that kind of pressure when we work hard to save for vacation. That incident put a big stain in our time in that location.
I felt I should have put an official complain with the hotel manager but I assumed that they provably were all in the dealing and voted against. I am still very upset about it and regret not having done something to protect other customers from humiliation.
My spa experience could have been better. Therapist pregnant and massage was very light.

This was our 6th time to Dorado. The staff say "welcome home" when we arrive. It truly feels that way.
Pros:Free breakfast, Close restaurants, hotel staff are are great!
Cons:pool bars ran out of beer and drinks several times
We could see the improvements made from last year with the all inclusive restaurants. The food is very good.
Service around the pool is second to none. Allehandro was our waiter all week. We seldom had an empty glass... except when they ran ran out of beer 3 times! Remember folks with all of us from the midwest.. especially Wisconsin we're a bunch of beer fans.. as opposed to Bear fans! lol
The pool staff really makes your day around there. Alberto, Himer, Lisbeth, and Bianca keep everyone entertained and brighten your day.
Hope to be fortunate enough to return next year!

Great place to stay

Loved staying here. It is a family based hotel, so expect family hours. Pool bar closed at 6PM. not a huge resort, but a few high quality restaurants. Better than most resorts I haves stayed at in Mexico.

If you want to lose all your money this is the resort to come to. To start, our room 2027 was extremely dirty. When we first arrived there was puke in our toilet already, and it appeared to not have been cleaned at all since the last guests. Also there was a trail of drips coming into our room from the room above ours that honestly looked like dried blood and there was a LOT of it. We mentioned it during our stay but it was never cleaned. Also my boyfriend was robbed 220 USD. The strange thing is is it seemed as if the person who took it knew exactly where to look because nothing else was missing only cash right from his wallet, his bag was even zipped back up. I do NOT trust the employees they barely spoke any english or at least pretended not to and would not do anything about the stolen cash. Also i showed security that i could break into our own room just by slipping the card between the door and lock so it was THEIR responsibility and liability that it was taken. The head of security informed us that they would deal with it before we left and when we confronted him the next morning he said we had never showed him that we could break in and our door was faulty so the staff was extremely sketchy and i felt unsafe the whole trip. Also NO variety of food. Same nasty food every day and room service knew NO english. Got our order wrong every time. My boyfriend hates sour cream and the last time we ordered room service he said 5 different times please no sour cream and they still put it on there, with extra on the side too. HORRIBLE service, horrible staff, and you WILL get robbed.

Although we are not fans of the A/I format, it was better than we expected. There was no problem getting any drink and most foods requested. The food was generally very good but did get a little tiresome after 2 weeks but there are still the excellent restaurants nearby. We just hope they will be able to survive with so many hotels going A/I. We probably would go back as we love the Dorado, especially their staff, Felipe, Jorge, Saul, Antonio and so many others.
Our only concern would be the A/I. We would like to have a choice or maybe just A/I breakfast.

A great place to return to
Pros:Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet, lawn games and entertainment around the pool, every room has a balcony
Cons:noisy air conditioner
We had a wonderful time in Ixtapa where we stayed at the Dorado Pacifica. We went with friends who were returning for the seventh time. My husband and I understood why our friends keep going back to the same hotel. It was situated in the middle of the Ixtapa hotels along the ocean and across from the market and restraurant area.
The staff of the Dorado Pacifica were very personable. The restaurant and bell staff greeted us like old friends. The rooms were comfortable and the pool area was great. We joined the bocce ball games, watch water volleyball and other activities.
I recommend the Dorado Pacifica to new visitors to Ixtapa and to old visitors if they aren't staying there already.

Good value for money spent.
Good tourist class hotel with friendly staff. Clean public spaces and rooms. Food is the only dissapointment; but many good restaurant choices across the street in the plazas. Room maintenance issue was quickly resolved. Been there five years in a row and keep going back.
