Room service stole $300 from my purse and hotel never followed back up with me as they said they would! I will NEVER stay there again nor would I recommend! Room wasn’t even cleaned properly stains on walls just very unsatisfied with my stay!

Loved the folks working really hard, their appreciation of tips, their willingness to do anything for us. There were some shortages of popular beers which was kind of shocking. Also some waits at a restaurant or two which weren't ideal. Forgivable things. The worst I can say was the lack of information. We weren't told that a lobster tail in any eating establishment was an upcharge in an all-exclusive resort - what? And we had to learn about things as we went... nobody told us we'd have to surrender our precious bracelets personally on the way out, nor that we'd be charged $95 each if the precious things that were horrendously poorly attached got lost (we retied every day to prevent this)

My time at the royalton was disappointing from the beginning. The check in was so simple yet the tasks seemed to be taking so long & there’s no rhyme or reason to how the lines are set up. People were skipping me left and right. There’s no one to guide you to your room. They just give you random directions and send you on your way. There are raccoons and feral cats on the property that come to scavenge room service leftovers (even though the TV says there should be a disposal protocol). When it was time for me to leave, at 5:45am, my prescheduled taxi never showed and every employee acted as though there was no way that they could assist me in getting a new taxi. After 30 mins of back and forth someone finally says that there are taxis in the premises. They told me they take card, but quoted me an incorrect price, but finally I had made it to the airport. At least the pools were warm and the pHousekeeping was impeccable.

They said all premium alcoholic beverages were available to diamond club members but Hennessy and Patrone was not, they required additional payment for those drinks. They said we could make reservations for the hotel restaurants but did not let us. One of the seafood restaurant was not letting us in at 9:40pm unless we paid $20 or made reservationsin advance. Their regular hours were from 6pm to 10pm.

The beach was still unusable due to all the seaweed. It seems to still be a problem for almost all the hotels. They did make efforts to remove the seaweed with tractors in the AM. There are at least 3 olympic style pools to swim in, laps even. Then they have 2 great water areas as well for kids. The gym is very clean, spa was great, the steak restaurant was great. The other restaurants were ok. The buffet style restaurant has a lot of different options each day. For off-site excursions to Xcaret or Xen-ha, that hotel is the last pickup, and first to be dropped off which was great. I would highly recommend the suite with swim out pool.
