We loved everything about Royalton Riviera except for the steakhouse. We liked all of the food that we tried but the ribeye steaks were thin, fatty and chewy. They also tasted like they were microwaved and not cooked over a flame.

I was very happy when booking this property because i booked a luxury suite with jacuzzi on the terrace. This is the only reason i booked this hotel. I arrived at the hotel at 7am. Was provided my room key bracelets and told to come back at 3pm because that’s when check in was. Which was understandable but being that i was already given my key bracelet i assumed all they had to do was clean my room and it was waiting for me. I come back during check in hours and was told my room wasn’t ready and to come back in an hour, when i come back in that hour my room still isn’t ready. So i then come back at 5pm and was told my room was given away. They told me they were going to upgrade my husband and I to a luxury suite on the all adult side. I did not want the suite because it wasn’t comparable to what i asked for. It didn’t have the jacuzzi and the supervisor told me that it did. It also smelled like mildew so bad and had mildew on all the mirrors. Tried to take a bath to relax but the water was yellow eeewwwww. So i complain about the supposed “upgrade” and they say they are going to accommodate me the following night to the room that i actually booked. I went down to front desk at 1pm the next day and they say the room isn’t ready. I had an excursion to go on so the room not being ready until 3pm was fine. We get back from the excursion around 6pm and was told that our room was given away AGAIN!!!! So we have to stay another night in the mildewed room. We were never accommodated.

Absolute worse all inclusive resort I have ever been to! Dirty, limited food selections (if you were able to get into a restaurant due to availability) Room was dirty, lipstick on bed sheets and they only changed one sheet (smh) jacuzzi tub had a brown film all around it, closet door wouldn't open, and everytime I peed or pooped I had to call maintainance to come plunge my toliet. EVERYTIME. They wouldn't change my room cause they were booked to capacity. I spent more time talking to people to help me at the resort then actually enjoying the view. I was promised balloons, birthday hat and details in my sons room for his birthday (18) and nothing ever happened. I was so disappointed. I purchased 3 rooms for me and guests and it was nothing less than a disappointment. I was encouraged to upgrade my stay to the "hideaway" location on the resort. So i did for 5 people and paid $660 extra to veer away from the kids pool. GUESS WHAT! Everyone else bought the upgrade so there was no place for us to sit or enjoy the pool. Not once could we use the facilities cause they were overpopulated.
