The property was very clean! Staff was very kind and helpful! Our room was AMAZING! So many great things to say! Also love that they have adult areas even with kids there we really didn’t notice much!

The staff at the property is friendly and ready to help. The check in and check out was so easy and did not take much time at all. We loved food and the beach, of course, very nice. Every day something was going on: either super-bowl party, or Valentine Day celebration, fun foam games in the pool, etc. There were 2 things we didn't like though: 1) There was construction next to us and for some reason, some workers did their job at night (which was annoying, and I know that was not our hotel's fault); 2) The hotel building is clean and nice but it is built that way that every one who walks in hallways and starts talking - you can hear them in your room. I guess, the only solution here is to explain this problem to every guest and ask them to speak quietly, especially at night. We want to thank you Riu Palace Costa Mujeres for overall good experience and memories we made at your place.

This was my first experience at an all inclusive. I was impressed. The staff was very friendly. The property was very clean and well kept. I thought the food was good. Plenty of options in the buffet and the specialty restaurants. Again, the food was good, not great. I didn’t have anything bad, but I didn’t have anything great. Overall I was impressed with RIU and look forward to staying at some of their properties

Been to Cancun several times. The food here was excellent. Staff friendly. But the beaches are full of garbage, they denied us transportation to airport when they said it round trip transportation was included

Have traveled to Cancun and the surrounding area several times prior to this, and we agreed this was our favorite resort so far. The beach area was particularly great here - very clean and less congested than the beaches in the hotel district. Certainly worth the longer drive from Quintana Roo. Would definitely return.

Although the overall resort was a good experience, it felt more like you were in a compound than an actual resort.

The swim up rooms are not worth it based on the design. You have oceanfront under the theater/garden with an unfortunate view of a hotel being constructed. We lost a day due to weather & missed flight connection. We called the hotel & they said the room is available as soon as we arrive for check in. The transfer from the airport was very confusing. However, the service was great. Upon arrival we checked in received a welcome drink and went to our rm 108 a beautiful room with a great bed and location except for the view of the construction. It is a true eyesore! We requested a room change & since we already lost a day Angel agreed to move us the following day to an oceanfront swim up. We moved to room 142 where the room smelled like mildew or mold. There were some issues:a chair by the pool was broken, the deck was dirty and the bed was hard. We called the desk and the manager Angel again, tried to work with us and address our complaints. We went to the shows every night & specialty restaurants. The Asian Fusion was the best. The bar by the theater, Andres was phenomenal & made you forget about your troubles. (I rated him separately.) But he is attentive, makes great drinks and is really nice! Rico by the pool was great! The room was directly next to the pool so, it was great in terms of location & action. Under the theater horrible chairs dragging all day 6am-3am. The coffee shop was good for cappucino and iced coffee!!! The store is expensive. Staff 5s

BEWARE AND CAREFULLY READ THE OTHER REVIEWS ABOUT THE STAFF STEALING FROM YOU! From my experience and other reviews its clear that some of the staff might be involved in a theft ring. I hope the Riu Head office really starts looking into this… My wife and I stayed here Jan 2024 AND REGRET ever booking our baby moon here. We checked in Jan 29th around 12:30pm, dropped our belongings in our room and went to get some lunch. We came back into the room at 1:15pm and my wife’s pouch was STOLEN from our room with her bank cards, IDs and pregnancy medication. They dont have cameras anywhere but the front entrance which is not safe, seagull poop is everywhere, beach is nice but food is mediocre. Dont bother going to any of the restaurants but the buffet they are terrible! The bed was dirty and ichy. Spent most of our time at the beach and away from the hotel. The hotel is shady and watch out for the sketchy solicitors by Pepes grill near the pools who try to sell you excursions, drugs or smokes. Stayed at RIU resort before and havent had issues but this experience has traumatized me and my wife and we will NEVER stay at a RIU again.
