Almost everything was perfect at this property! A medium size (which is the best), super clean and taken care of territory. Incredibly friendly and welcoming staff, especially David and Arby from the entertainment team, the smile has never left their face and they easily made everyone feel welcomed. Two large swimming pools plus kids water park pool and I believe 2 more smaller pools for members club guests. Also hotel bracelets serve as keys to your room which is incredibly cool!!! Just a couple of improvement suggestions: * For the 7 nights we stayed, twice it was just karaoke night and twice “DJ music” for the night show * We were never hungry, but a bit more food choices would also be great * The check in process took over 20 minutes, surely it could be simplified and made quicker

The only problem we encountered was that our room door had a gap all the way around. Each night bugs would invade our room, woke up each morning with many mosquitos bites.

If you’re looking for a nice, small resort, this is the place. We’re not fans of the huge resorts that require a trolley to get around because it’s so big. Check in took a while and information being told to us by some employees was incorrect. They did offer to let us go eat at the snack bar and come back to check in after, but we were told that because the snack bar would be closing at 3:00, incorrect the snack bar closes at 5:00. We weren’t given wi-fi password at check in, has to ask for it later. Also had to get our own luggage and take to the room. It was quite a walk with 4 luggages because our room was closer to the beach. Reason for that was our room phone didn’t work, kept saying invalid extension. Apparently the phones haven’t been updated because when I mentioned it at the reception desk, they gave me the extension I could call for front desk and other areas needed, that’s something that should be given out with their information or map of the resort. Other than those minor issues, we enjoyed this place. The kids pool area, my kids loved it. The other two pools are nice as well, we mainly hung out in the activities pool. The beach area was beautiful, we were lucky to not have any seaweed. Be aware they do not allow you to take the seashells you may find in the ocean. The snack area offers a good selection of food. The buffet is good too, but it’s hot, place could use more fans in there.

I did not have high expectations and went with an open mind. The property is just ok, the rooms are a good size and the cleaning ladies did an excellent job keeping it clean and stocked from mini bar to towels to soap, etc. My main disappointment has to do with the clear lack of maintenance with some of the restrooms in the common areas. Toilet seats and sinks missing, rolling black outs at any time of the day or night. The specialty restaurants are ok, only the Italian has A/C the Japanese restaurant faces west so the early afternoon seating is unbearably hot with the sun beating through the windows. I’m a picky eater but I can say you will not go hungry at the buffets. There’s a good variety of choices for all. The overall rating for me is a 3. The beach access and ocean at this particular location is spectacular. The water was crystal clear and beautiful. Face masks are required through the resort and every time you interact with staff. Even though disinfecting gel readily available and temperature checks are taken at every restaurant, I didn’t feel comfortable eating at the snack bars or buffet where so many people where handling the serving utensils and/or plates and glasses. I would prefer they had servers/attendants behind the stations to limit these high contact points.

We recently visited Allegro Cozumel in June 2021. We thoroughly enjoyed the pools, especially our kids (ages 3 and 7). The closeness to the beach and the diving/snorkeling pick up were a plus for the adults since we went for the diving. The beach had lots of kelp/seaweed on it that was washed up daily and the shallows didn't provide for much snorkeling due to the amount of kelp/seaweed in the area. The staff was friendly, although due to COVID, there were not many staff available for check in and services during the meal times. This made for long wait times at meals and during check in/check out. The resort is older and the rooms need definite updates. If you are going to Cozumel to spend a lot of time in your room, then this isn't the place to go. Rooms were very hot and humid and electricity went out several times while we were there. Generators were on, but it made for the rooms even warmer than usual. My 7 year old enjoyed attending some of the kids' club activities and the kids' club attendant was very kind and sweet. The COVID check was held at the hotel and was for the most part, pretty organized. It took about 2 hours from start to finish to get registered, paid, and wait our turn for the swab. Results were delivered to the front desk later in the day. Cost was $31 per person for the antigen test. The hotel is quite a ways away from the downtown shopping area and the cab ride to the downtown was $20 for 4 people one way. Overall, we had a fun time.

The staff was amazing! Carlos and Luis took great care of us! Arbey was always fun with his playfulness and activities! The grounds were beautiful! Weather was perfect! We were disappointed that the usual restaurants were not open, so we had buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Due to covid, we had to be served and most of the time your food was cold by the time you sat down to eat it. We didn't starve but there was little variety. This is our 3rd time at Allegro and we would go back, because the staff is amazing! Hope next time there are more food choices.
