Palace reputation

Pros: Close restaurants, Free Internet
Just came back from my vacation. The resort is changing to hard rock but the palace name still on the line. I have a great respect for the palace resort name but I left this resort very disappointed. There are very short of staff and more than do not what is going on. There is a lot of lack of information. The lobby of the cove is close after 11pm, we learn that the same night that we were living when we could not get of hold of any bellboy. There was a lot of hair flying on the rooms hallways. Around 9pm the food on buffets were cold. There are more services and restaurants on the adult side than on the family side, it feels like family is not welcome. The excuse for every comment is that the resort will be changing to hard rock, which is own by the other side of the family. I am so dissatisfied with my stay. The palace resorts needs to watch there interest because their still on the line.

WARNING

Cons: sale sharks
Hotel is beautiful. Regular staff very friendly and helpful Food was good. 1500.00 credit was a crock not at all what it's cracked up to be - very limited on what excursions you can use it for! BUT beware of the sale sharks trying to rope you into becoming a member!! They sucker you into what was to be a 90 minute speech by promising you a free gift. Well in the beginning they are all sweet but boy when you say no - attitude city!! They kept sending different sales people to try and persuade you and before you know it 1/2 day gone - then they blame you for it taking so long but what part of NO (multiple no's) don't they understand!!!!!! They will continue to hound you up to the day before you leave - leaving phone messages. Spoke to a black band presidential member who said DON'T do it - not worth it, wished he'd never did it himself and he approached us not knowing we were just pecked almost to death by these people. Warning us that they will try their hardest to rope us into a membership. This hounding really put a damper on my vacation, don't think I'll ever go back. What a shame! Also beware of the piranhas at the airport offering you deals on excursions RUN FAST past them don't stop and talk or you will be sorry you did! If they want people to return they should leave them alone and let them enjoy the vacation. If you rent a car beware at the gas station they will rip you off - when they pump the gas watch the dial. Playa del Carmen not worth the time - set up like a flea market but they keep yelling at you to come to them - you can't even enjoy looking. Tulum, Akumal, Xcaret and renting a car on Cozumel a must!! What was to be a great relaxing vacation turned into a so so one because of the sale sharks at the resort and airport. I would highly suggest refusing any so called free gifts and if possible book your excursions online before going so you avoid any dealings with the sales staff at the resort or at the airport. Hope this saves you aggravation so you can enjoy your vacation.

This Resort was a great get away!

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet, friendly and helpful staff
Cons: variety of restruants for kids
Got a great deal to go to this resort and it was soooo worth it. Rooms were a little small if you had a family of four... 2 beds are somewhere in between a full and a queen.. We managed to sleep 1 adult and one kids in each bed. There is a huge jacuzzi tub in the room which takes up a bit of space, but the kids where in it everynight. Cove side only has 3 places to eat but it was fine for us, buffet breakfast at Ventanas was awesome, There is also a place where you can get coffe and a muffin for breakfast and at lunch they have sandwiches, paninis and wraps, etc. Mundaca has a buffet lunch, and at the pool during the day you can get snacks, pizza, and burgers. Manduca and the Mexican were the best for dinner, was not crazy about Ventanas for dinner, being from the NY area, nothing beats Italian around here. We ordered room service for breakfast and a late dinner, came within 1/2 hour and was very good. I have nothing but raves about the rest of the resort. Staff was awesome... very attentive. There is no "beach" there is a cove.... hence the name of the resort I guess... my kids did not care... the ocean was VERY rough... you can kayak and snorkle in the cove too. Bring water shoes... it is rocky. Pool is awesome... my kids are 11 and 13 and loved it.... they have games schedule through out the day. There is a little kiddie pool too with a falling bucket of water. We had 1500 in resort credit and used it for excurtions and some spa treatments. The concierge desk booked the whole thing, very helpful. Overall we really had an awesome time here.

Dear GB13663L1I76: I would like to thank you for choosing Aventura Cove Palace to enjoy a wonderful family vacation in the Riviera Maya. I am glad to know that everyone had a great time with our special activities for children, enjoying our facilities and eating the delightful food at the restaurants. If you decide to visit us again in the future I would highly recommend you booking our Family suite which is the perfect size for your family to have a more confortable vacation at the aventura Cove Palace. Also you can go to enjoy our facilities at the Aventura Spa Palace which is Adults Only Resort while your children are in the kids club. I wish you all the best. Rodrigo Arroyo

Great Resort

Service was A+ from the moment you walk in the lobby staff are there to great you and take care of all your needs. The resort is divided in two parts one for families and one for adults only.... thats fine for me.. One can sit and relax and read in peace or visit the other section for a noisier atmmosphere with the kids. The entertaiment was good and the meals were high standard. there are relaxed dinning options with the added benifit that they do enforce a dress code at the ala cart restaurants, so you can eat and enjoy a special meal without having some one in cut offs and no shirt sitting near by. The pools, fitness facilities and spa are excelent, there is a small lagon for those first attempts at snorkelling or canoeing, but acces to the open sea is limited for those more skilled. so no windsurfing or cats to play with on site. Room service included provided great snacks and meals on demand and any drink you could want. The presidential suit was huge, 2 bedrooms and 2300 sq feet of living space plus balconies

You've got to be kidding!!!

Stayed from 26 Sept to 11 Oct 2009. It is simply fantastic. I can't imagine what these people are whining about. It's a secure, private resort on 86 acres--no peddlers, no hustlers. The grounds are fabulous, beautifully groomed everywhere. Beautiful pools--love those swim-up bars. Maybe they're complaining about the food--you can't get junk food except at the pools. The eight restaurants are wonderful--they don't have a 2nd class restaurant and the service is exceptional, even when the hotel is full. Rooms are excellent--they all have balconies for private sunbathing with ocean views. I've been to other "all-inclusives" where all they have are cheap drinks and junk food buffets. For those of us who appreciate first class food, drinks and service--this place is a fantasticfind!!!

Not what it's advertised

We stayed in the hotel for a week, We got a family room because we are 6.The rooms are so small that we have to put our luggage in the balcony. The only place were a rollover bed can be placed was on the king bed side. we tried to talk to the manager to see if we can upgrade, or have and extra room and after wait an hour and talk to someone who clearly couldn't take any decision we left without any solution. The hotel has only 2 restaurants, the other one is under construction. So your kids only can eat all their meals inside the room or in the restaurant next to the pool. The mexican restaurant, Hacienda, has a dress code that doesn't allow people, even kids, in bermudas. We had and awfull dinner with my oldest daughter crying because of the rudeness of the hotel manager. It's not worth a penny. We aware, their pics and description is not faithfull.

Bad Experience

I was in this hotel a week and we had many problems, the hotel is divived into two parts and the kids only can stay in one part, the rooms are small and the service is slow. And I would say the worst part was the management every time we try to get something solved they were not cooperative I would say the opposite, they make your experience more difficult.

Feb 28-Mar6 awesome stay very uncrowded highly recommend

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet, authentic mexican food, safe cove for children to swim, not crowded, spa was amazing, !500 resort credit, very friendly staff
The Aventura Cove Mexico hotel was very good nobody there maybe 30-40 guests. Compaired to the Sirenis olny thing better was the reef outside the Sirenis beach. However I saw snorkeling lots of Conch, sea cuchumber lots of different colored urchins and a bounty of fish. Not much coral but no waves to make the snorkling murky. Food was stellar due to being able to eat at a la carte every night. La Mexicana was amazing authentic cusine. Beach was hard sand but awesome for families with little kids as no waves and shallow depths in the ocean. Pool was emaculatly clean and nobody using it made the whole trip awesome. Hotel room was a nice size and house keeping did a great job every day. In room Jacuzzi was a great touch as was the $1500 resort credit that we used for massages. Beautiful spa with a variety of great treatments. I would recommend this hotel to all young families.
